I have lost my source files and need help getting my source mod files to link with the hammer of sdk, seems nothing I do works. Can someone set-up a dummy mod and try and work with me to get this project back on the go as without a workable Hammer the mod will die.

that has to be a shock for you!
I would love to help, although i am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean that you really lost all your mod files? Because that would then need a deep search of your hard disk. Or do you mean that you still have all your mod files elsewere, but that you lost your mod file structure. So the actual mod itself, but that you have at another place all your mod files also placed. And that you don't know how to build a mod? In that case i could sent you one of my old mods, without all the files inside. You then only need to change the names.
Let me know what you need, we can then solve this problem.

Yes I have the map etc, but the hammer and mod structurte is all gone as I keep all vmf seperate to my mod folders in case I loose them, which is what happened.
When I got to set up a mod again and link it to hammer config everything gets messed up and it either errors or simply wont load
Seems you don't need the help after all.
Rather strange thought that you don't say at least so, o well, that modern internet for you.

Òk, sorry, no problem.
But there seems to be something strange with Hammer. Because i just tried to make Hammer work with some of my old mod files and they also don't work. So it looks to me like there has been AGAIN a Valve update that ***** everything up. This is normal with Valve, it has happened over the last 10 years at least 6 times that i know of and had big troubles with! Normally it is no problem at all to get it to work, but now it just doesn't do so. Have tried un and installing again of SDK but that also didn't fix anything. This is one of THE main reasons why i left Valve mapping after 10+ years, because they keep updating there engine and editor, which fixes one thing and destroys 10 other things in the process.
