It is actually much noticeable.
I have one serious problem with this which is the sharpening effect it has, not like, actual texture sharpening but the issue is that it does this sort of digital sharpening effect that I don't really like. The original game's textures aren't great, but have you considered asking Monolith to see if they have the original assets lying around?
