Napoleonic Era is a renowned, fan-made modification for Age of Empires 3 and its expansions The Warchiefs and The Asian Dynasties. The mod intends to accurately illustrate the time from 1555-1815 by greatly expanding and reworking the game with new units, buildings, maps, sounds, music and civilizations. The mod has been founded in January 2006 by Alexander Fleger and is being continued by Peter Piepenburg since February 2010. It is still one of the most anticipated mods for Age of Empires III in the whole world.

NOTE: Requires Napoleonic Era 2.01 This is the latest bugfix for NE 2.01 made by Yomgui. It turns the bugged NE 2.01 into a playable version. It works for both: MAC and PC. If you find further bugs, please report them at in the official thread.

The modifications are those :

-> Restores Portuguese's Velas Brancas (instead of usual fishing ships)
-> Restores the French's Grande Armée : this means Garrison, Academy, University, Grognard, Chasseur. I got rid of the barracks temporary solution. Now Grognards and Chasseurs shipment can be done in the academy. Those units aren't available before age 3 because they are quite unbalanced. Moreover they have  limit of 10 each. I might modify this later if someone find a better way to balance them.
-> Westernization and Petrine's Reforms now update the poleaxemen
-> The swiss bivouac has a new icon. No more filthy black square
-> No more German university (because they had a double with Reichstag)
-> Polish starting ressources bug fixed
-> New icon for the Polish Kozak allies card (no more black square)
-> New icon for the Swiss Follower recruitment card (idem)
-> Austrian Royal Guard Hussar's name fixed
-> The imperial swashbuckler shipment's icon has been restored
-> Reichstag's SettlerWagon's bug is fixed
-> The Native Embassy Travois's string has been corrected (no more livestock pen wagon)
-> And the last but not least : Dutch can now age up to fortress age!

I downloaded both the beta 2.01 and the hotfix. I did everything the word document told me to do. I also updated my game, but for some reason nothing seems to have happened, have I done something wrong?

Ok everything is fine now. However, on wikipedia it says the AI of Austria should be Marie Louise, while on the download it is Maria Theresa, who was Spanish. And in the download she always talks about spain, not Austria, is this a bug or my fault?

I've downloaded NE beta 2.01 and Hotfix 7.1 but I must of done something wrong because the French flag is still the French royal flag from AOE III and there are no custom maps and when I play as the French the personality doesn't show up. Can someone help me out?
