Version for MC 1.5.1, if u have newer MC, use another download!!
There's been months, i had no time to work on project. Glad to be back!
Here's some special news about our game Pixelo.
The game is moving to a new format. What does it mean?
It's something like changing .bmp image to .png, which changes quality for sure!
This of course will not affect your current experience by a ton,
but mod developers will now get the full taste of the game.
The official update 0.6 will now be further moved to 0.7, this means there will be no official 0.6 release, instead we will go straight to 0.7 at Christmas Eve, and after 1.0 the game will move to Beta state of development.
But hey, i know you'd love to see the great stuff upcoming earlier! If you're kind of a Easter Egg hunter, then you can go check out my download link domains and accounts where i upload my files. I usually put up some Pixelo backups in case of computer hard drive loss, so you can download the 0.6 snapshot right now. Right now? YESSSSSS, but you must Google me first :3
So here's what new format improves -
- View distance, this mean's there will be no more cluttering and sluggish lag that causes the game to be choppy. It works simple - Disables objects that are not in view point.
- Texture changing support! Yes, Christmas texture packs coming soon!
- Less memory usage - No lag! And a lower game space on hard drive, and oh, less memory used.
- Easier game development and faster updates!
- Game Updater independent on MDU, this means the game will now inform you when new update is available, and directly offer you to update it without even having launching external programs!
Before you call these a regular improvements - NOPE, no, not. Let me explain a little, this is not an update features! This is a whole Engine update lets say. This will improve the game a lot so you don't have to worry at all. Absolutely.
So on the other note,
OLD COMPUTER SUPPORT
Holy cow, this is absolutely whole game overhaul.
So i was visiting my friend two days ago, he had a few old computers that he doesn't use anymore.
I decided to tell him a little about Pixelo project, he seem to be in good mood so he didn't really said anything, instead he seemed to be jumping happy like never. So i decided to download Pixelo to old computers so he and his friends can test the game. We booted, and checked out.
In my surprise all the work wen't down - I was lost. The game was using more memory than a poor old computer can handle! I decided to quickly grab my laptop and see what's wrong. Definitely, both game engine and computer were old. I threw in some improvements and finally got on a development lead again, and the improvements forced me to change game to a new format.
And yup, it works! Going back to testing lag again, so i wish you all guys happy Christmas and good holidays! See you after update, make sure to wait for presents both in-game :)
P.s - Trust me, this is going to be awesome! This is going to be a completely new game and i'm absolutely positive about moving on!
