Always hated "last light" boots that this costume has, looks like 12 century stolen boots, brought to 21 century.
Welcome to the post apocalyptic world my friend. Sometimes you just gotta make due with what you got. Not gonna lie I personally don't like the boots as well and it does ruin the look but I do like it for its authenticity/realism. If that makes any sense.
