It's been like 2 weeks now since I sent my very diplomatic and friendly e-mail to the license department of EA.
I first contacted the Dutch support who gave me a very fast reply (kudo's for that) on who to contact off-shore. Though, I might contact them again, since EA's license department hasn't replied to my mail at all. I must say I'm not pleased with this, since I won't continue this project untill I have an official word that I am allowed to.
It came to me that EA Games work very sleeky. There was a MoH mod for the HL2 engine once that had the same goal as me (MoH: Source, check MoDDB for their died entry). When they started getting results, EA Games demanded they stopped working on the mod or they would undertake legal actions. This is what I heard, I'm not sure it's true or not, so I won't be accusing anybody.
Even though, I just hope to recieve an reply before Monday, else I will sent the exact same mail again, and a copy to the Dutch support. I will also be asking for an explanation, since I don't think this is a way to threat someone who is expecting a diplomatic e-mail. At least let me know it's being forwarded to someone higher on the ladder! Also note that I at least took the time to contact them, I think that should be rewarded with some kind of official an answer.

that is so lame.....seriously, its not like ur trying to get money off there IP or anything (I think :P).....its a mod 4 crying loud!!.....oh well you'll just have to c if they have the decency to reply......
That's what I think aswell. They at least could take the time to send something back. Heck, eather a simple "Yes!" or "Hell no!" would be fine for me.
Well there was a mod a team was making for UT04. A Warhammer mod, and same as before when it got results they were asked to stop creation or legal action would be taken. Same with "The Matrix" mods for the Max Payne games. Any portraying of Neo, or any other character from the movies, or looks or similar effects of any kind, WB would douche bags about it. Its just lame, I mean, your not making money off of it, so whats the problem? Not my fault the mod community can make a better matrix game for free than a budgeted team like Shining Entertainment.
