Lone Hunter is a modification for the 1998 game Trespasser. Set once again upon Isla Sorna. A number of years ahead a group set out to the island. Though trouble occurs leaving one alive but alone to traverse across the island to survive and escape. New models sounds, and environments accompany this WIP mod. All to provide a new look to an old game.

This is the first news post. Since recently seeing trespasser was on here (from trescom members) i decided i'd also set up a page here. The actual site is in some downtime due to the host updating, or possiby the account got deleted by now, by lack of uploading to the ftp..

Lone hunter, of course being a mod for trespasser, will include many features of the original, these being, the controls, the dinosaurs, and sounds. But not just them. New sounds, new models, and new environments will be included.

The story follows Kyle, and ex-soldier, and not a stranger to mechanics, electronics and weapons. Past experiences replay in his mind, reminding of the past. He is called by his friend Rick, who is offered a job for another 'old friend'. Rick asks Kyle to join him on this job for the money, of course Kyle accepts after some encouragment. Kyle, Rick, and other proffesionalised members board a plane to Isla Sorna to capture a prize worth thousands to the bidders. Through tragic events, Kyle is left alone, with only one thing on his mind, to escape the island. He must overcome the terrain and the life that lives on the island. With very little to aid him, wit is required to evade and early grave. With little prior knowledge of the area he must find the right path.

Not trying to give away to much of the plot, numerous events make his escape even more desperate, and show that he is never alone, with a constant pursuit. You can see from the black and white image, there is something watching, and those two shadows play an important part to the story, what dinoaur they are exactly, to be found when finished.

Some of the environments will based upon the Lost world PSX game. With every detail, except with the freedom of movement.

 

Recently, I just drew up new plans for two later levels, which both deserve a huge overhaul in terms of design, and is what exactly they will receive in the next two months, in fact very likely be completed.

The whole game consists of 12 levels, and will be released together, with everything included. The mod is failry large for now, but due to the design, releasing individual levels is not practical. Unless the desing needs to be changed, levels may be cut and realeased in chapters. Though hopefully i should have it packaged by October, if not earlier.Its currently 90MB, unoptimised. Optimised being smaller more suitable audio, models and clean levels. I'd expect the final size around 170MB though, but its just a rough estimate, and I hope its lower.

I can finally say that progress is being made, but not just in level design, music and soud and models. Alot of which I don't want people to know of yet, otherwise it could spoil the surprise. Some new shots of new level design should be up in 2 weeks.
