Legend:Farewell Edition is a heavily modified upgrade-remake of Hexen in a classic style, but with a darker and a much more aggressive atmosphere. Featuring almost twice the length of the game, revised and extended levels, more decorations, precision-refined gothic design, new weapons, enemies and effects, 6 characters, plenty of secret areas and even an expanded storyline with custom-made story arcs and endings for the DLC heroes. More action, more locations, more magic, more HEXEN!

There's not that much of a selection of mods for these games compared to some others, so for someone like myself looking to get into one of the older classics, this serves as an exciting and enticing formula. Great atmosphere, variety of gameplay, and attention to detail.

A fantastic idea on paper, this quickly turns into nothing short of a slog as you find yourself in poorly lit room after poorly lit room relying on automap and blindly humping walls unless you crank your brightness up to max, which makes the game look absolutely hideous. Speaking of which, blindly pressing use on walls is the only way you'll progress throughout these levels, as rather than mark progression with doors, the creator decided to take a less mainstream approach and use unmarked walls. If that doesn't turn you away, then I really hope you enjoy the company of Stalkers and Reivers, as they will keep you company while playing this.
