why not use dev textures?

Well I'm doing the layout of all the maps, this is the first one.
I have not textured them yet, I am going to wait until the L4D sdk is out.
We dont want to do loads, I heard that the SDK won't allow modding, if this is the cause we have to get the source code and will need somebody for that. We have one programmer interested. He has a masters degree.
This mod is very early stages yet, we can do maps especially for use in L4D anyway.
who says it'll be out soon.
