So many have requested it, and so many agree, the beta of l4d has some features that would have been best left in the game, and not removed.
The goal of this mod is to bring back the best of the beta into a Left 4 Dead modification.
not due to poly count naw. They used 5 seperate models for the tarp. it was probably removed Probably because you could jump on top of it.
Now it just flys away and is never seen again. No more ambient tarp flapping and raindrops hitting tarp sounds. I really like the tarp, it adds a nice feel to the map, and will definatly be a welcome part of the beta mod.
They removed it because it was abused by their playtesters.
Its just like the subway: Beta it was unlit except from the obvious things - Light at the stations that flickered on and off, and light from the overturned trams. Between those areas was pitch black and you had to use a flashlight.
Testers complained it was too hard, not scary, frustrating, so all ambient lighting was removed, as was the AI controlling lighting.
If you look at earlier notes about L4D, much thats now 'new' for 2, is actually removed things from 1. The lighting control, the path changing...etc.
Keep it up guys. It will be awesome to play the scary version. Arcade is only fun the first time through.
Flashlight should be held with the left hand instead of always on weapon. M16s dont have the ability to use flashlights, exept the M16A4. if they are on they should be animated to be turned on.
