Kamidex. A Singleplayer Source engine modification being built around the Half Life 2 story. "The commanders of your planet notice some abnormal teleportation readings coming from earth. A crew is sent out to investigate, with you being one of them. Orbiting at a safe altitude from the earth, you watch the war between humanity and the combine. But then something terrible happens. Your entire squad looses control of their craft, and get pulled into the Earth's atmosphere by an invisible force. The light blinds you, and there's a crash. The next thing you know, you're in the middle of an abandoned building on the outskirts of 'City 11'. Who is responsible for bringing you onto the planet? There are a lot of questions remaining unanswered, but as you struggle to find a resolution you have to battle your way through packs of Antlions, Alien-Human Hybrid Zombies, the combine, and the normal refugees of the city. You're causing panic, nobody can trust you -...

By the way, we have decided that the mod will initially be released in Single Player. However, there is more than likely going to be a Mutliplayer Addon for the mod. It would install as a seperate game, but still use the same files (ie. Saving memory). Also, Level One has now been completely finished and leads directly into the second level. What we're saying is that the level will be left alone until testing.

Wouldn't it be cool if the guns actually looked like that (Sarcasm).

Concepts like this are fine, really, the thing is you shouldn't release to the public. Let's face it these guns are no more than simple doodles which virtually anybody could do. Like I said, this is fine but it's best if you keep stuff like this from the public and use them just for ideas and modeling reference. Because drawings like this arn't going to impress people. For instance I've created crap looking concept designs before, but they help me plan and model it rather than from nothing, however I don't release it because it's for personal use only and nobody really needs to see it. At the end of the day, unless you have an artist with awesome skills at drawing conceptual designs, don't release them.

Thanks for the serious comment, mikewood :)

They weren't originally going to be released to be honest, and this update was going to consist of Level 2 / 3 Map shots, but I've not been able to get them for today. I personally thought it would be better to post something rather than nothing, but I know some of you disagree with that.

yeah no your be even more harshly critisised when you get the models done, because we now know what to look for from when its released, very bad move, also you give no tech infomation as to what they fire, what the clip looks like, what trigger or attachment does what. Good Luck, but do something more!!

I always prefer concepts to the obligatory unskinned M16 renders, moreso if they show a glimmer of originality.
My advice would be to take these and spend a while working each of them up into a larger, more detailed drawing. I think the one on the bottom left especially has a good look to it and real potential.

good luck

I personally like the guns on the right, they have some uniformity and style to them. I wouldnt bother posting anything that you feel could be detrimental to your mod dude. Having said that your getting the critiscms and feedback you want here to point you in a better direction.
We all make mistakes! Said the Dalek climbing off the Dustbin!

Good luck and heres to better things!
