This mod has been assembled using Sikkmod 1.2 as a base, which is also included in the download. It uses particle effects and a system for blood splats on walls, which I scavenged somewhen in 2006 and I wasn't able to find the source. If you know where it's from, please tell me. It's brilliant. All impact decals that come with fading effects (like the railgun glow) have that effect fade as usual but the actual scorch stays for a long time. I also added an afterglow effect for the charged blaster shot, rocket launcher and dark matter gun. Blood splats and impact decals stay for a long time (even longer with an optional pk4) and corpses also disappear later than usual. As an option I included parts of the Rivarez mod (with kind permission), like his DLL to counter a bug in SikkMod 1.2 along with other graphical stuff. I also included a few optional treats which I like to use myself (like swapping run/walk controls.)

Yeah, as far as I remember I didn't touch world textures at all.
Sikk mod messes with a bit more, but most of my work was done with how the decals are generated.
So yeah, textures should work perfectly fine. :)

Just so y'all know, using the optional folder "Rivarez DLL and bits - use all" is not compatible with Quake 4 tweaks.

Usin Quake 4 Tweaks and this mod together is the only thing that fixed stuttering on my PC. I can't explain why. Using either of them on their own did nothing for me, but with both of them I get stable 120fps all the time. And the game looks prettier. So thanks for that!

I can imagine that this might be SikkMod, which I used as the foundation to build on (only keeping graphical aspects though) or one of the tweaks in the autoexec that comes with the package. Those can change quite a lot concerning performance (and some I really don't understand myself, but took from guides).
In any case, most important is, that your game runs better now. :)

thank you so much for your hard work, this looks amazing! better than the doom 3 mods in my opinion! I tried editing the ini but for some reason couldnt get the frame rate above the cap with out a separate mod in addition to this, but all works well hands down the best quake 4 set out there and really loved how you put it all in one package.

In order to make the new decals work I had to edit some of the weapon files. Damage values and the like are in those files as well, so it might not be compatible.
You can make them compatible though. Open the pk4 packs with 7zip, look for the files both mods use, compare values and change them.
In order to edit the files you first have to drag and drop to another folder. Really, works like with any other zip or rar file. Good luck!
