Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.

Greetings. Here's the main part of this update : IDF-Modern Combat is basically an expansion type mod that adds Israel to the nation featured at the stock BF2. Here's the main part of this update :

IDF-Modern Combat is basically an expansion type mod that adds Israel to the nation featured at the stock BF2. The time line of the add-on will coincide with BF2 time line, using modern weaponry and tactics.

The mod will include the same weapon/vehicle/units configuration with the use of Israel's weaponry such as the Lavi Jetfighter, the Merkava 4 tank and hand weapons such as the Tavor and Galil assault Rifle. In addition are also new voice's, new toys to the original armies as well and hopefully new Commander modes.

The release will feature converted BF2 maps with Israel added in addition to some all new maps.

As part of the documentation project, Yotam 'SPYKER' Sade, went on a trip to Hatzerim, to the Israeli Air Force (IAF) Museum, walked around the planes and of course took a lot of pictures. Most of pics have a general look, so were planning a new trip to the museum for some better in-depth pics.
