The Victoria 2 Historical Project Mod is an attempt to improve the game Victoria 2: A Heart of Darkness without changing the base game experience too much. Built using parts of the mods NNM and PDM as a base, the main aim is to improve the historicity of the game, including countries, map and pops and to add more historical flavor to the game, while taking into account the plausible historical outcomes and the mod performance. The first release includes a vastly improved country composition and a complete rework of the global slave population. Most countries now have slavery and slaves and the historical number of slaves, as well as their pop composition and religion, was used when available. Future releases plans are to include a serf pop type and reforms to represent it, other meaningful reforms for the time era, dynamic soundtrack for countries/governments/regions and a 1816 (or 1815) start date.

Description

This is a small hotfix release intended to fix some minor problems some kind anons caught. There's a few additions too. If you want the full 0.4 changelog, which is absolutely bigger than this one, look over the 0.4 release. Save compatible with version 0.4.

That option is already in and you have a few options in regards to that. Look in Delhi and you will see the Mughals.

Thanks for sharing this mod!

I've always found myself very much entertained by Victoria 2 whenever I'd take a break from Civilization VI.

I think the gameplay experience that "A Heart of Darkness" offers is more fun than the Vanilla and "A House Divided".

With the Historical Project Mod, there's no telling how many hours I'd be able to waste for the game and not regret every second of it.

Influence (monthly dip points)
Tech/inventions that add for example "0.2 influence" in file
but doesn't actuallu give any dip points per month in addition to the base 0.3 influence per month.
Should be changed to
"influence_modifier = 0.2"
to have any effect, right!?

hey thanks for the great mod, but i have a problem in this version. when i chose a country and start play the game will load then stop at adapting history then crashes, do you have any idea how to fix this?

So, I have an issue where I keep crashing on loading database 2. I'll get a pop-up every time telling me there's a file exception and can't open the file for Sigmaringen or Neuchatel and then game will CTD. I have tried reinstalling, overwriting the countries in common\countries, using an older version, deleting caches, validating vic 2, and nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem with justifying wars. All I did was switch tags and use the "changeowner" command and I can no longer justify wars as my starting country.

*Resolved by flipping the ruling party from liberals to reactionary

Playing as Austria, the Krakov event isnt working as intended. When you get the event to declar war on Krakov, it shows in the event text that you get an CB and that its added as a core of Galicia. After that you get a popup, that you got a CB but if you then want to decalre war you have no CB.

the ottomans seem to always blob into Africa with this version. in my recent game they've taken egypt and sudan again and are colonizing all the way down to uganda just like the last two games.

This is a great mod! I love every second playing it, but one thing that bothers me is that whenever i manage to make china westernize and civilize there's always a warlord era event, i think that's pretty dumb since i've been doing great and even conquer some colonies, unlike the real life counterpart of it, so maybe you can give me some hotfix to delete that event whenever the player manage to make China civilize cuz even in the vanilla there's no such event unless you're playing china with ****** strategy

For some reason in this update the American Civil War never fires. The CSA never gets cores past Texas and Oklahoma. Any idea why this could be? I've played four or five games and the ACW hasn't happened once.

The bad_badboy war exhaustion modifier is far too high. I get that you want to punish people for going over the infamy limit and that's what the other modifiers do, but the war exhaustion part is silly. Like even with only 30 war exhaustion if you were a good boy and stayed at peace you wouldn't make to zero before the modifier expired in 20 years. With something that unreasonable all you're doing is incentivizing people to use infamy console cheats

Besides this,someone above mentions that American civil war never fires,which also happens in every game for me.
The new CBs make no sense when it comes to Qing.After 1880 you get to demand concession at the cost of 2.5 infamy.However,historically,it is extremely difficult to demand entire provinces off Qing,because all the GPs are competing for influence there and will not allow anyone to gain advantage.(I apologize if this is only temporary and will be fixed in the next update,which I've heard is focused on China.)
