The Abyss: Renewal news

Hey there! I’m Bluey [Rusty, on discord and steam.], The Abyss’ team leader. I would like to announce that the mod is now on it’s feet, once more. Though there is one particular change to note: The Abyss is now on a new engine: pragma. I’ll delve into the details later, but the just of it is a faster to use engine with much more flexibility than source without being too alienating for many people.

We also have a new team name: Red Gradient. For people who are wondering, the original mod has fallen apart due to unforeseen consequences. Many of our old team members have gone inactive, usually due to problems in their lives that had come up. A domino effect ensued and The Abyss was put on hiatus, with many leaving.

However, Roach came to me with news of a new engine, as mentioned: Pragma. With it’s promises, there was a new chance to bring the mod back. Though sadly that means it can’t be considered a mod anymore, but a game by the fans, for the fans. As such we will be finding a new region to set up our public pages at. regarding Pragma's features, though..

[Pragma Details]
Pragma is an engine designed to be as similar to source as possible, intuitiveness and user accessibility wise. Though it also incorporates industry standard features which have been invented and established since source’s debut in 2004. Features such as improved physics and lighting, using the vulkan rendering engine.
