GTW is a massive, full conversion mod for WC3. GTW will seek to totally revamp WC3 gameplay with strong design and modernized systems. GTW will have physics, dynamic accuracy, crawling, shield bonuses, and much more in terms of combat systems. GTW will also have a brand new resource system and neutral system, as well as some other new systems, all of which compliment the strong design. GTW will feature 8 all new factions, each of which will have its own style, and all will feel very different. Some will focus on guerilla combat, while others will focus on traditional combat, and while still others will focus on other forms of combat. GTW will also feature three, full campaigns, singleplayer and multiplayer melee, as well as singleplayer and multiplayer custom. WC3 has survived as long as it has because of custom maps, and GTW will not forget this. GTW will actually come with numerous GTW versions of popular Bnet maps. GTW version? These maps will utilize GTW units and systems. Thus, imagine...

I figured that as an inauguration present, we'd supply some eye candy-

Really now, you actually HAVEN'T read anything about GTW.

GTW has 8 playable factions, with 20+ units each (including naval units), with 3 neutral factions that will factor into the neutral system. Plus, of course, dynamic accuracy, physics, shield bonuses, crawling, etc...

JASS is the scripting language for WC3. It's based off of C++. Anyway, a JASSer is one who codes JASS.

I'm currently taking a college-level programming class, and will attempt to learn JASS at the completion of the class (the class is game-orientated). I'm also going to try to learn modeling w/Blender.

We're overjoyed with your praise. I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything, but some are dubbing this the spiritual WC4.

Wish one could edit comments so one would not need to double post... lol.

Well, anyway, in order for us to ensure that this is every bit as good as it can be, we're in need of a little more aide, mainly in the modeling deparmtment, but some skinning and coding as well. Anyway, I once again urge anyone who is interested in helping (and remember, there are plenty of ways that you can help, and help is not limited to what we ask for; help comes in all forms, and we accept it in all forms) to please contact me.

That wallpaper is well done, i like it, congrats to the maker.

A WC3 mod is also quite unique, i'm glad that someone still remembers that ol'' game...

Best of luck.

Unique? Along with the other 100 mods being produced right now.

There aren't many other WC3 mods in production. Not active production anyway. Most have either died or drifted off. Among the active ones, I believe that there is still HoS, PR, WotH, RotHE, and maybe NATO (not sure about that, haven't spoken w/Jumbo lately). Anyway, GTW is, in terms of size and scope, by far the largest. Besides from PR and NATO, GTW is the only mod that will actually do more to change gameplay than just by adding a new faction or changing existing ones.

Quick note that in my prior post I only spoke of those I knew of.

HoS is bigger than GTW, and you forgot at least 6 other mods (TCs).

HoS is definitely not bigger than GTW. I have read in-depth about HoS, and it comes nowhere near to modding nearly as much as GTW.

Anyway, you're making sure that you're only counting active mods? There are a lot of mods for WC3 that are either dead, dying, or barely moving forward, and I didn't count those.

I'm counting mode that have releases, and will have releases before GTW ever will.

HoS has 5 1/2 races with 20+ units each and is almost complete. I'd say that's bigger thatn GTW. No amount of simple JASS systems will make your mod bigger.

HoS unit actually look more uniquely non-warcraft than half the stuff you've posted too. So get off your high horse and join the queue.

Wow, shield bonuses...

Hos does have ships too - if you're gonna count all units, HoS has approx 40 units per race. That's 200 units before even starting with neutrals

BTW: What is so dynamic about your damage? Standard War3; 9-13 damage is dynamic accuracy.

Ney, you've apparently not read about our accuracy system.

Our accuracy system is not dynamic in terms of damage, but dynamic in terms of range. Units will have "optimum ranges" and "optimum range accuracy %s" as well as "maximum ranges". At optimum range, the unit will have the optimum accuracy %. At maximum range, the unit will have half of the optimum range accuracy %. At 200 range and lower, ranged units will swap over to melee and have 100% accuracy. This is the reason for having both accuracy and evasion (partly). Accuracy helps to keep the ranged units in-check, having to deal with both their own accuracy and an enemy's evasion to score a hit, whereas melee units only need to get by an enemy's evasion. Anyway, values between the optimum range and maximum range will be generated by a fail-proof and extremely accurate formula, as will the values between the optimum range and minimum range. Basically, the closer a unit gets, the better its accuracy, the farther, the worse.

Anyway, shield bonuses are much more valuable than you'd at first think (really my friend, I'd thought you had better insight than that), especially when you factor in backstab (shields only affect the front).

As I've said numerous times, the physics will be much more than simple eye candy.

Overall, I highly suggest you look much deeper into GTW before you attempt to bash it, for you shall find it fairly hard to bash something you know little about.

Btw, are you including structures in that 40+ count? B/c that's definitely not what I counted, unless you're getting info from a source that I'm not. I wasn't including structures in the GTW units per faction count.
