Gladiator is a multiplayer melee-combat total conversion for Half-Life. Centered around the gladiator battles in ancient Rome, this mod puts emphasis on strategic melee battles. Elements that have been incorporated to improve strategic melees are: -A slower pace of battle, so you can plan your moves. This is not about hyper-speed battles, but slightly more drawn out melees. -Blocking with shields or weapons. -Round based team play, where one player will have to wait the round out after being killed. Each player belongs either to the Gladiators or the Romans. -Different classes which provide different weapons and skills -Special moves: kicking, sand kicking, shield bash, and other skills depending on class type as well. Elements that add a lot of atmosphere to this mod: -Notoriety. This is a measure of your popularity with the crowd, and determines the available selection of classes. -Beasts included in battles add an element of danger.
