Age of Empires III: Galactic Conflict is a non-commercial, fan-based Star Wars themed mod under construction for Ensemble’s Studios Age of Empires III, drawing inspiration from several star wars games such as Galactic Battlegrounds, Force Commander and Empire at War, AoE3: GC aims to bring the star wars universe to the great RTS game of Age of Empires III.
The Grand Army of the Republic allies with the local Wookiee Tribes to combat the assaulting Confederate force.
That looks so awesome!
Can't wait for it
Oh wow! I love the chewbakka with a trooper standing right there and watching the action.
What tank it is the yellow one? It's a HAVw A6 Juggernaut?
(Edit) I find it: it's a A5-RX battle tank. Artillery?
The A5-RX Battle Tank is a Heavy Assault Tank on the Wookiee unit roster. Though a Republic/Imperial vehicle, both the Republic and the Empire already have a full roster, and to fit the A5-RX (which only appeared in a few Legends sources) on one of them was not a priority. Wookiees however, needed a Heavy unit and one that filled the Assault role. I created some in-game lore to help swallow this.
Soo, tadaa, the Wookiees now have a Battle Tank. Equipped with Heavy Blaster Cannons, and a Missile Launcher, the A5-RX is good at chopping down infantry with its blasters and deal splash damage with its missile special attack. Its Assault role makes it equally good against Infantry and other Mechs, though it fairs better against the squishy infantry -- of course.
Well, you have all the (I think) non-cannon SWGB units for the wookies.. you will use some of them?
You always can try to make the vehicles from Galactic Battlegrounds. There you have the complete roster from the wookiees.
Well, you should also remember that I'm an individual modder, doing the whole project by myself and to model such vehicles is much more complicated than simply using a model available on the internet.
Basically, I'm a one-man army doing all jobs -- of course if the need to model one unit or two comes I'll do it, but if I have another model I can use, for logistics stake, I'll take the model already done. Though, if I'm honest, my preferred choice would be -- yes, to model proper unique units for each factions roster, though there's no time in the world for that.
Understandable...Though it might be possible, once you do your release, as you patch it, to slowly replace models and units as you have more time...A wookie here, a gungan there, ect...
