This project is designed to duplicate, as closely as possible, the "feel" of Tachyon: The Fringe, to the Freespace 2 game engine. Tachyon was always plagued by bugs, hacking, and lack of updates. This mod is an attempt to rectify most of the egregious problems, and to update the playing experience for Tachyon fans. Status: We are in the process of remodeling the entire ship list from Tachyon. this is a time-consuming process, yet will result in a vastly superior visual result. Please visit our image gallery to keep tabs on our progress on that front! As the project gains momentum, we'll be putting more information up, and sharing our progress with you. Should you wish to help, please check the Help Wanted section, and we'll consider your application carefully. We are ESPECIALLY looking for modelers, texturers, and coders - especially for LUA and C++.

The Fringespace team is still at work, behind the scenes, bringing their project closer to fruition.

Well, it's been a few months, but we're still plugging away.

We're recently finished several ships, and have them entirely ingame. We have 6-7 other ships at the modeling stage, but untextured as of yet; namely, the Gar, the Dart, the Demon, the Mace, the Nighthawk, and two Drone ships . I'm also proud to announce the Poseidon is at model complete stage now, as well - the latest masterful work by Carl Gonzalez, our Lead Artist.

She's a great ship, and I can't wait to fly her! He says that the next up will be the reworked Archangel.

In other news, we have the Claymore model in the pipe, as well as several environmental models.

We'd also like to extend a warm welcome to the talented Ed Ainsley (Features Coder), the indefatigable Nutritious (Music and Sound), and enigma (Modeler) to the team - and welcome our good friend Killjoy (aka Sonic) to the team; an old and new friend - and now teammate - of ours.
