Forgotten Hope 2 is an award-winning World War II modification for Battlefield 2TM and is based on the original Forgotten Hope, a modification for Battlefield 1942TM, one of the most popular multiplayer games ever. Battlefield 1942TM featured land, sea and air combat in a way never before seen. It was the goal of the development team to maximize the game experience by adding both a realistic and enjoyable gameplay to FH and now to FH2.

The Forgotten Hope 2 team is looking for talented modders with a passion for World War II and commitment to work hard. We need new fresh talent for our next campaign, the Russian front. The mod was released on December 14th 2007 and is currently the second most popular mod on the bf2 engine and won the 2010 Moddb players choice award.

What we can offer

  • Collaboration with a team of about 20 dedicated people which allow you to share and gain knowledge.
  • The possibility to work closely together with the mapping team to produce customised content that will be part of new content.
  • Work in a team with a lot of freedom but a very strong focus on quality which gives you the opportunity to work on objects you want to do.

What we are looking for
We are looking for additional artists that help us recreate the bombed out cities, peasant villages and industrial landscape of soviet Russia. At the current stage of development, the following skill sets are needed:

3D artists for property/static modelling

  • Ability to do lowpoly modelling
  • Experience in uv mapping
  • Photoshop texturing skills (level depending on your assignment in the department)
  • Experience in 3ds Max or/and Maya
  • Having 3ds Max for exporting the scene to BF2

If you have other abilities that you think are beneficial to this mod, please do not hesitate to contact us either per e-mail (fh2mod@gmail.com), IRC (#fhmod @gamesurge) or a personal message to Nissi via the Forgotten Hope Forums!

Please visit us on IRC to have a chat with us if you like to understand your future role even better or just wish to make your first contacts with the team.

For me, PR aren't bad, but the too high minimum system req makes me can't even play the mod without lags..
And for FH2, this mod not too bad and not too good, PR mortar system is more complicated than FH2, I swear.. BUT, most of the FH2 planes are pretty hard to control, especially if I wanna give some BOOOOMM to enemy using the dive bomber.. I always crash the ground, and I give 'em... Multi BOOMM! XD
And for fighters, it's kinda hard to do starfing runs to the enemies.. :D

BTW, one question: Is this mod will add naval units, like destroyer, cruiser, or aircraft carrier ships?

Haven't we got enough WWII stuff all ready? I know that sounds harsh and I appreciate that you are on the top end of that, but it's time people put that period of history in the past in terms of gaming... Everything has already been done, you can't realistically make a new weapon, vehicle, or place to keep the content fresh, so the way I see it; move on.

I love playing the new content in FH2, and it most certainly does feel fresh to me. Definitely no reason to stop making FH2! What a weird thing to say...

Have you ever played FH2? There are alot of weapons and other stuff, that you won't see in any other game. Not to mention all the different tanks, airplanes and what not else. Atm the gaming industry is flooding the market with modern warfare crap over and over again, so FH2 feels more fresh than anything else. And don't forget that it requires some skill to kill the enemy without all this laser guided target finding bullsh*t.

Hell yeah dude!
You guys hink about the new games today, it's all about the new ******* technologies like laser targeting, guided missiles, thermal detection... they all make war games less brutal and amazing. For example, an airplane fight, it takes more time to kill your oponent airplane, turning the fight more brutal, more skill based, and the jet fighting isn't that cool, it's based on guided friggin missiles and a basic ability to push the countermeasure button or do basic flight evasive. Don't you see what I and 5hitm4k3r mean? WWII Games are about brutality, a rage to kill the enemy and get trhough the road without getting shot. Oh yeah!

I might sound like a **** here, But I absolutely HATE it when I see people saying that. How can people say 'Not Another ww2 shooter' when we have 100000x generic Modern day war games, The same bullcrap fantasy role play games over and over again, yet when it comes to ww2, people get all pissy. We cannot simply forget the world wars, and one way I believe we have done well in remembering them is in Video games. WW2 actually happened, unlike these far fetched ww3 games we get shoved in our face today. Are you aware of how much suffering millions of people went through, so you could play the games you do today? You're bloody lucky you aren't playing Third Reich Online. And are you aware, that people actually have taste in video games and a love for history, and yearn for the days when an incredible ww2 FPS comes along where you can feel totally immersed in a desperate struggle to win a battle?

'Haven't we got enough WWII stuff all ready?' - No, no we bloody haven't.

My only real complaint about FH2 is what seems to be an unwillingness to push the draw distance that other mods gladly do. I know it really beefs up the need to have better graphics horsepower, but it's so beneficial for aircraft and general situational awareness.
