Most people say their mods are going to be revolutionary or will be something great. Most mods now a days promise everything, and swear that it will be the best mod. Most mods it seems are just mere knockoffs of other great mods, or are Counterstrike clones. We used to be one of those mods. The bad thing about being a gamer in general is that you play one game that everyone likes, and then there are suddenly a million different incarnations of the same thing. Originally, we were setting out to create a remake of Quake. Sure, it sounds like a good idea, and would probably be pretty fun, but we quickly realized that if we were going to get anywhere with this thing, we'd have to make it our own. Shortly afterwards, Epicenter was born. At that point our mantra was basically "Quake...but better". I wanted every concept to have the feel of Quake, to have that grit and that character. But of course, we here in the Epicenter team hardly limit ourselves to one area of expertise. Included with this email is the first ambiance track that will be in our soundtrack, brought to us by the incredibly talented Dactyl. A nice little piece of the messed up soundtrack that will be included.

The audio track can be found here.

But that's not all, a few of us here decided that we wanted to create a real homage to the games of yore, and it being the 25th "birthday" of PacMan, we've decided to create a version of the timeless classic in the Source Engine. We only have a few concept screenshots of "Pacman:Source" at the moment (which will be up on the website within the next day or so), but it looks like it's going to be a MP mod that will just be fun to play with your friends.

So I think that'll do us for this update, look for some more good stuff soon!
