The Enduring Freedom project is aiming to bring realistic combat simulation to the GEM 2 engine and is focused on the units involved in the initial coalition combat ops during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan (Special Forces, 10th Mountain Div, and 101st Airborne). Conventional warfare will be presented as well. Project features and info can be located in the news section.
cute
This would be fun to drive around. Can you program the rider to shoot from the ATV?
Currently all vehicles have a unique feature enabling passengers to shoot their own personal weapons while the driver rips around. The old MH6 variants and RHIB for example allow passengers to shoot and clear an upcoming LZ while on approach. This was implemented by old teammate Cromtec.
That would be very cool then! Way to go Cromtec!
that's really cool! especially the rider shooting the at4 against an armored btr...
maybe the atv could have a variant like this in the mod? :-)

Oh god yes... Thanks for the inspiration/resource Linkenator
Would be awesome to be able to jump with it =P
I was thinking of looking into the possibility of using the falling characteristics of chunk entities which can fall and interact with objects in air, however that would be a long shot as a new type of vehicle without ground constraint would have to be made and to be honest I have a sneaking suspicion this is impossible due to certain engine limitations and the fact that there is no true gravity.
This one looks so good even without texture!and imagine it with texture..!
Unwrapping and texturing model now. Update pic soon to come!
FPS model in a rts... Looks like it's extremely high detailed and wastes useless amounts of tris, which will lead to slower game if used more. Nothing a texture cant do.
Understand where you're coming from on this point, but the engine can handle a bit more than it's been used for in the past. The aim is to have something between RTS and FPS quality but I do totally understand and respect your point of view. LOD optimization hopefully will compliment any performance hit for lower-end systems.
In hindsight I may also just bake hires polys into texture and use a lower res version of model... Thanks for input again...
