I need ideas on what to do with the mining ships I have a few but I want to know what you would like to see. An idea I have is to put asteroids on the map and allow them to be destroyed to drop special objects that ONLY mining ships can collect that will add a certain amount of credits depending on the asteroid, and have special resource stations on maps that ONLY specific mining ships can capture while the mining ships produce a steady amount of credits just for being on the map. What do you think of this? I also want to state that mining ships may be a latter update in the game after I find a use for them.

Sounds solid, its a slightly more complex way that other SWFOC mods have done it.
I know i just want to find a use for the ships so there not just sitting there waiting to get destroyed.:)
you could make it so the closer they are to an asteroid field the more money you gain from them or make them have to make trips back in order to get the money
