DragonBall Source is a DBZ mod for Half-Life 2's Source Engine. This mod is now a Multiplayer Mod, and not SinglePlayer like previously intended. Each character will be assigned their own specific set of attacks, with power levels balances to create fair and balanced gameplay. The main multiplayer game is a team based game with two different sub-modes, namely "Capture the Dragonballs" and "King of the Hill". The "Saiyan Saga" (first release) has been released and is currently available via the Downloads page. The next major release will be the "Namek Saga" containing even more characters and maps. There will also be more features, which will mainly focus on transformations. The new character list hasn't been decided upon yet, but there should be between 15 and 20 extra characters to choose from.

Sadly last weekends weekly update was delayed, but now it's up for all to see. Now we have a new ingame video for you to feast over which displays a few things new, but mainly shows off the HDR Lighting in the mod. As one character fires at Vegeta, with the new Rapid Fire feature, the Ki explosions all around you give off light which effects your vision, changing the light, sometimes barely noticable, but always there.

In this video you can also see the new Damage Indicators created by myself and DLSwimmer, (me artwork, swimmer code). As one blast gets to close to Vegeta, the blast does some slight damage. Not enough to effect him, but it's there, and it's letting you know that you've been hit. This also allows you to see what you've hit at a distance as well, allowing you to know if your shot was successful at long range, or was dodged/blocked.

In other good news, DBSource has taken that one extra step to having a great launch day and has secured it's Server Sponsorship with a new company at LoPingNoLag. Before our release, we shall be using one of their servers as a testing server, but when that faithful day arrives and we release the mod to the public, you can expect at least one dedicated server online.

The server is UK based, so will be great ping for all you European players, but for those in different timezones, we haven't forgotten about you and we'll be be looking into sponsors at other regions, so watch this space.

If your looking for a new server though, feel free to checkout their website to see what deals you can get on a brand new server.

To comment on this news, simply head over to our forums and post in this news thread. Posting requires registration on our forums.

While your here, we at DBSource would ask you to click this link which causes you to vote for our mod daily at moddb.com. Seriously, this helps our public awareness on Moddb, one of the biggest, if not THE biggest modding wesite out there, so click away daily, and help a small mod like us out. Thank you.
