Doom Reborn is a total conversion of the original Doom Series. Our goal is to recreate the original Doom & Doom 2 in the idTech4 engine with new textures and new models of the original weapons and monsters with the maps redone and retextured. We also want to bring back the orignal doom music along with the sounds remade in a higher quality. Doom Reborn is and always will be a non profit project. Doom Reborn Pre-Beta Version 1.0


After a lot of testing last night, and a couple of quick changes and fixes

The new release is ready :)

But i've put a how to fix guide for the precompressed texture graphical issue that people have had in videos of current versions

Just wanted to quickly point out, ModDB freaked out when updating the news last time I luckly had a copy of all the text before updating, But all videos download buttons images etc didn't come back with the copy I haven't time to sort that all out again since the new release is coming soon and I'm focusing my attention on my work. unfortunately Brent is busy with a lot of job interviews at the moment and doesn't think he'll have time to sort out the load\save game options of the menu :(

Also I would like to point out again, please share a opinion on here on wether you believe the mod should be called Alpha or Beta or even Pre Beta for this releasing coming


By levels it'll have all of episode 1 (not level 10 from the xbox 1 release) and 4 levels of Doom 2 but many other changes and fixes and updates
Tonight i've been working on the script related to the super shotgun and bfg
to remove reload, its coming along alright, the super shotgun is closer to sorted than the bfg
bfg is in a runaway loop at the moment and the super shotgun fires and works once
using 2 shots then looks likes it's firing again but uses no ammo(firing blanks so to speak)

I have a fair idea how to sort it out, But i'll look at it tomorrow after work :)

Doom Reborn Alpha Version 0.841

There is a new method everyone can use to launch the mod
I've included a early version of the DoomReborn.exe Brent has been working on

Place it in the Doom 3 folder with the Doom3.exe
And use the DoomReborn.exe to launch the Mod

This will directly load the mod, Saving any time creating shortcuts and batch files

Help:

- Setup (Using WinRAR or Alternative Extracting Software)

Move the "DoomReborn" Folder into the "Doom 3" Folder

- Setup (Using the WinRAR Installer)

Check the install path Default is C Drive "C:\Program Files\Doom 3"
If you have Doom 3 installed on a different Drive or location Click Browse
and select your Doom 3 Folder,
Then Click Install

- E1M6 Choices

E1M6 Normal is placed in the Doom Reborn Folder as Default

Just copy and replace the E1M6.pk4 with ether High or low from the "E1M6 Choices" folder
Located in the Doom Reborn Folder

- E1M5 Music

Cristiano Salvati's E1M5 Sample Has been provided as default

To listen to Cristopher Shanks's Alternative E1M5 Samples just replace the E1M5.pk4 with ether Sample 1 or 2 located in the "Shanks"
folder in the Doom Reborn folder

- Launching the Mod

Place the DoomReborn.exe next to the Doom3.exe
And double click the DoomReborn.exe

- OLD METHOD

Load Doom 3 as normal, From The Doom 3 Menu Click "Mods" on the bottom Right of the screen, From The Mods Window Click

"Doom Reborn Alpha 0.841" And Click Load Mod

- Creating a shortcut to Doom Reborn:

If you want to create a shortcut to Doom Reborn use the following commands in a normal
Doom 3 shortcut C:\Program Files\Doom 3\DOOM3.exe" +set fs_game doomreborn
