Doom3 - provides closed captioning for Doom3. Closed captions add text for dialog and sound effects. Most games have sub-titles (dialog only captions) but very few also caption the sound effects which can provide vital clues that hard of hearing or deaf players miss often. The mod also includes a visual sound radar that show the approximate direction and distance of a sound source. Hello, I tested this mod and whenever I load it, it will get stuck on the "initializing user interface" screen. Any help???

Yeah it's probably that, only tested on PC apparently. the mod uses custom .dlls which only work for windows version.
This is great, and so far the only CC / subtitles mod I've found.
I have tried it with DOOM 3 v1.3.1. It works like a charm. My goal was to have speech subtitles in the game, but this mod displays nearly every sound and SFX happening all around me in the game. It's a lot of unnecessary visual spam for me. Is it possible to have a version of this mod just for speech subtitles? only NPCs talking, cutscenes, and voice messages on PDAs and computers.
I believe you can turn off some of them in the game options, I don't remember so I'm not sure, I can't check right now because I don't have the game installed.
Thanks for your reply, and sorry for necroing this, just recently reinstalled Doom 3 and enjoying modding it. I have 2004 retail Doom 3 patched to 1.3.1. I will try to see if I can control the CCs through the game options.
hey, i tried using this mod but it crashes upon startup just leaving a console window. i read through it and apparently it failed trying to move a dll out of the pak provided?

Looks like you're not running the game as admin, run the game as admin to let it extract the files.
Did not work as first but when i added +set fs_game doom3cc as saw here brilliant wORKED But should it work for Resurrection of Evil Too ?? as i cant get it to work ever i did ADD +set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game doom3cc

Nope, it has custom .dlls, those only work with the original game.
How 2 use
Extract in the game folder then add this to launch options on steam or shortcut properties:
+set fs_game doom3cc
or start the game then switch to the mod from the mods menu
