System requirements: Zen 3 or better: 8GB GPU: Medium preset @ 2k 60fps RTX 3080 12GB: Medium preset @ 4k 60fps RTX 4090 : I have pushed the engine to the brink of failure which since raytracing injection competes with game logic on 1 core, and mip map generation increases draw call overhead substantially with mega high resolutions you need a modern CPU to play it without framedrops. Textures have been noised up between gigapixel passes and calibrated to look like detail texture layering using AI upscaler denoise pass. I also have done some hand clean up in paint.net. All layers have received love. This mod is not fully compatible with BFG Edition (Raytracing!), and was made for the original version. It is not perfect. At some angles there are lines on the character models faces as a consequence to how the engine was built and higher resolution makes it more obvious. The game will crash taken over 4k resolutions with Lovelace maxed out version of this mod as mem. runs out.

Description

Part 1 of 15. Part 15 is raytracing and instructions and found in the comments section. This version uses hand applied RLE compression which was required to maximize its usefulness. In some cases it can both increase CPU requirements AND memory use, so just applying it to every texture was not good enough for my standards. RLE compression is technically lossless, so it doesnt distort the texture period making it technically superior at resolution parity vs even a modern lossy technique like BC7. Increasing the texture file size beyond where I have it will lead to crashes at 4k resolution. INFO IN COMMENTS ABOUT POSSIBLE ALDERLAKE SUPPORT.

Some low hanging fruit for the Anonymous hacker club if their goal was to save humanity instead of flirting with our Great Leader like he were an Alien cryptid.

Honestly would be better to just use a wrapper without error messages, and hack the .exe to allow BC7. GPU mipmap acceleration would reduce overhead. A x64 extension to the games cache would effectively make it just as capable in practice as BFG Edition in its engine potential for maximum PC Master Race Fidelity Protocols.

Also if the game supports OpenGL to DX9 successfully, Nvidias new mod tool may perhaps provide a venue, but hold on there partner even getting it working.... you are going to need to shove some of that memory into a off x86 location thats still accessible.

This is a wildly more advanced objective, im just a simple farmer and craftsman elated at all the wonderful shapes of encouragement showing up in my fields.

*Straw chewing intensifies*

That there tactic would allow CPU requirements to drop appreciably. Dont kid yourself sonny, this game engine at the brink of destruction is 100% a single core IPC benchmark. With evolution by powerful game hacker species this can be obliterated and the ultimate glory will be upon mankind. Hell a powerful enough superhero matrix of effort could lead to this experience on a mobile platform like the Steam Deck. With incredible optimization, even offscreen legit RTX hybridizing with the improved but ancient ways. Great will be these approximately pleasing gimmicks of physics as they appear to us to mimic lighting aided by moments of the simulation hypothesis genetics. Honorable super raytracing beyond the injection molded look of a classic render. A Frankenstein event gone mad by scientists of decidedly pure heart.

Me.me

OLED displays would reduce power requirements allowing higher resolution larger screens and maybe in the year we start using photonic computation for that sort of math crunching the Steam Deck 5 might be a serious machine indeed. It appears the normal temperature tolerance rates have increased, probably because silicone is being heavily doped with stabilizing agents, mostly to prevent electron leakage at present sizes. Im not Jim Keller, but I can tell they are pulling out everything in the hat, and that classic silicone compute technology is going to have to make the jump to lightspeed or be consumed by progress.

Performance per watt is now our new God. Its the only way forward to maximum processing power at scale. Alderlake in theory is capable of running this mod, though I hope you are maxed out. Older software like this would prefer B die DDR4 modules and all your tertiaries tuned. In the future DDR5 will be within spitting distance with mountains of bandwidth, so this comment scales with time.

Something BIG is coming. Go ahead and sub to Frame Chasers. Hes prolific to the point and lightyears more likeable than my personality.

Nasty. Maxwell but even more pathetic. The Steam Deck has 16 bit precision specific optimized silicone space too. 800P isnt going to cut it though. It will take significant enhancements in hardware displays, and mostly software optimization to save mankind from the 1 core experience of the OG code which was super optimized for the hardware of its time, and presentation memory processing power availability envelope.

And assuming you knew what you were doing and overwrote the files, you could optimize the experience for your specific CPU using both versions of my mod for an exotic flavor of retro no one else yet could give you.

Digital Foundry could be out there. In the darkness behind the curtain playing with knobs and ****. We just dont know!

Too bad the mod referenced has zero real time raytracing effects which is by my supported software library an unacceptable sin. Would love to see the real time RTX guy super legit multithread the game so we can do interesting things with it. Defeating my version would be a Noble deed worthy of Great Honor.

"You were a knight," said Merlin. "Somewhere in the world there is defeat for everyone. Some are destroyed by defeat, and some made small and mean by victory. Greatness lives in one who triumphs equally over defeat and victory."
-John Steinbeck, The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights

I would support Carmack/Nvidia contacting the modder working on offscreenspace RTX Doom. More manpower would accelerate plans to destroy the rebel base.

Here at Remastered Retro PC Games, we only accept the highest quality injectable effects.

Nothing against our Retro Leader John, but he was definitely trolling us with that gnarly AO radius, and its singular approach is very primitive and terrifyingly simple for such a sophisticated group of Graphical Elites. It was a test of the audience. Reading the comments section on the youtube video, most of you failed Johns test of if quality can be discerned particularly at the screens edges as the black hole people enter and exit. There are still humans on the planet that cant see screen tearing.

Soon AI will be so advanced we can use DLSS or its competitor in any API and world peace would commence. Here at Remastered Retro PC Games we do not advocate the use of elicit substances, with the exception of retro human catnip.

"What, no small talk? No chit-chat? That's the trouble with the world today. No one takes the time to do a really sinister interrogation anymore."

The Holy Grail is DLSS 3.0 in everything. Retro especially but using powerful new enhancement procedures in accordance with PC Master Race law. The be nice to the little timmy archetype of mods is taken to the extreme unethical wastings of memory. Especially considering the person who made it is more mortal often than his fruits. My point is some degree of arbitrary existence would be optimal to prune if it proves to have little purpose. Doom 3 for example is a rare case where smaller texture mods make sense from a purely CPU speed shortcoming of the engines 60fps Elite demands. We should practice some form of cleansing, or perhaps Skynet will. It would be more objective than biological substrate confined computants like us.

If a full blooded RTX Doom 3 came out, and it (this mod) served no hardware supportive purpose, but was just inferior period. Thats time to phase it out. Like I will likely be doing with Resident Evil 4 in my Library. Already took out Alan Wake OG behind the barn. Its no longer officially supported since I take this extreme eugenics approach to enhanced retro.

How many half *** texture mods does mankind really need anyway? Are the video game mod archeologists in the year 3000 looking at our primitive laughable technology, and use of that technology, and saying wow, a 5GB doom 3 texture mod. And it was made with Gigapixel AI so the only thing stopping this specimen from evolution to the limits, was human dignity.

Offend me harder daddy. A class act.

Space Shuttle < Crew Dragon < Starship
Cave Human Rasterization < Doom 3 injected real-time screenspace RT < Doom 3 RTX
Doom 3 texture mod pushing game engine 30% < This one < Future superhuman creations

The hold up in the 2 gentlemen doing the DOOM 3 RTX mods, is to make the graphics truly superior, you absolutely are going to have to multithread the game properly. Rendering this mod obsolete is absolutely what I want. Clearly, other modders do not feel the same way. Thats I would say a character flaw.

Ultra advanced programmer hackers in the community, hear me. I tried to turn Warranty Voider on youtube to the light side of the force but hes really about PUBG enhancement which was a massive difference in cultural values. I chose DOOM 3 specifically because it was underrated, despite being a legitimate cutting edge of history. Betrugers face is 5120x5120 just like his lab coat. No memory leaks.

My God is progress.

Are these the John Carmack prophesies?
