It is the era of the Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire and the galaxy has settled into what could only be described as a dark age, if but a peaceful one. The effects of the Last Great Time War have rippled across the all of time and space, and the Dalek Empire has been left shattered and leaderless. The Cyber-Legions have placed a temporary lull on their campaign of conversion as they too recover their strength. What has resulted is an uneasy peace, for now.
