Heya guys, hope you're well. So whats new in the wizarding world?
This months time has been spent on some of the larger aspects of the mod, e.g; map development and base mechanics.
As you'll see in some of the featured images, we have added an abundance of new provinces to the world, allowing us to introduce more wizarding families. Now we could have just added these families to existing counties, but then you'd find that the map would not be very balanced between Wizards and Muggles. So we decided that new land would be the best option for all.
We have several new counties in Scotland, even more in England, and a handful of counties added to the coast of Normandy... plus Hogwarts!
Now map work aside we've been working on a new magic system, a system of magic points that you can accumulate through breeding, education, artifacts and events. In your quest for magic will you strive to be best of wizard kind, or lead your fellow wizards into the dark?
These magic points (levels) will assist you in a great many things, from questing to war, to new discoveries and more. Essentially the more points you gain, the more prestige and magic you'll bring to your house for future generations.
As you can see character development has also been worked on. This time around you will find that all major houses will have extensive ancestry, rather than just a few characters to each family, for more of an immersive experience. Also you'll be happy to hear that with a fair bit of testing, the pure-blood family AI is far superior to its predecessor, as families are retaining their pure-blood status.

I should also inform you that there have been some edits to wizard portraits, changing a couple hairstyles and clothing to fit in more within the culture.

*House Weasley/Prewett portrait cultures added
*Dynastic naming event added to House Black to assure appropriate names are given.
*Writers can produce books that grant magic points.

So.. Will the sorting not only take your traits in account, but also your ancestry? Like if you're a descendant of Helga Hufflepuff, will you be more likely to be sorted into Hufflepuff?
That's exactly right, your dynasty will have markers that are taken into account. So if you come from a long line of slytherins you're more likely to be sorted into that house, but there is always a chance that it could go the other way based on how different your traits are to those of your existing family.
a classic problem i can't find this mod in the steam workshop
Do you have a goal release date for the mod? I would really like to give it a try once again... it's been so long ;_;
