Hi Everyone!
So this is the first edition of my news series. In the last few days I've been working on new Foreign Legion units, and that's what I've made:
From left to right: Foreign legion privates 1st REI (sun helmet and kepi variations), cavalry lieutenant, infantry captain.
New headgear:
Two sun helmets, three infantry kepis, general's kepi, officer's kepi, spahi officer's kepi.
For the future: I'll continue working on the Foreign Legion, but in order to make you happy, I decided to make 1-2 other units besides them, so I'm waiting for suggestions and wishes. Any nation, any military unit (strictly fom this period).
Really amazing job. Why not the french colonial infantry? Uniforms and weapons are similar to the foreign legion, only tropical helmet badge and collar stuffs differ : an anchor instead of the legion flame. Before july 1900, the name of these troops was "Infanterie de Marine", and after they became "Infanterie coloniale" and they didn't depend of Navy ministry anymore, but the anchor badge remained. A renown campaign with combined foreign legion and Infanterie de Marine troops : the 2-years long 1892 Dahomey campaign. A french link : Fr.wikipedia.org
