This mod is inspired by the parkour aspect and city of Mirror's Edge. It's based in a city called "Bay City", you are a free runner. The city has been taken over by terrorists, and they're after you an the runners.
I decided to make a video of what I have been working on recently. This is just a small portion of Chapter 4 and is a work in progress. It was recorded in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 so I couldn't show you any of the free running abilities that are in the mod.
Looking good, but you should put more of a delay between those trains, in reality, there's about a 1 or 2 minute delay.
I agree and I would do that but the trains are on a repeating track, they go past the station then teleport back to the other side and go past the station again. In order to make the trains more delayed I would have to make the trains go further down the tunnels before they teleport. To have a 1 or 2 minute delay I would have to make the tunnel extremely long which is impractical.
It would also make it much easier to cross the track without being hit (although it's easy enough as is).
Sorry about the long reply and thanks for the feedback.
To fix how easy it would be you could include a live third rail to increase the difficulty. and as for the trains timing, I do believe there should be more delay and making a longer track to increase the time 15 - 30 seconds would be an improvement.
Note from the coder: Have a third spot or something where the player cant see, and have them teleport there and then stick a delay in the path_track to wait 1-2 minuts and then teleport to the next part.
I don't agree.. I find that if there were a 1 or 2 minute delay the cross would be waaay too simple... this 2 second delay is harder. Although still very easy.
The solution is simple:
Have the train, once reaching the end of the track, teleport to a secondary track somewhere out of the map. This can be as long as you want, and when it reaches the end of THAT track, it can go back to the map again.
2:45 PINNED!
Looking really cool :P The lighting is very good.
Really nice textures and mapping, congrats ;)
I love how it changes from green to blue.
nice ending :)
cool 3d sounds
