Just more details that I'd like to share about this low fantasy-mature-horror-survival-RPG series for Neverwinter Nights.

This is the sixth news report for Celeritas Eos Equilibrium of The Night which is an open world survival-horror-action-RPG for those of you are still unacquainted with this mod. I will be discussing some world altering choices in this article as well as introducing some an area and a character important to the history of the world. To begin with this article shall begin discussing the character Seraphiel:


Serephiel was the founder of the religion known as Serephimin and he was a holy man who expanded on the teachings of many before him by saying that there is but one god who people must worship and that this god loves each and everyone of his creations despite them being flawed in the eyes of perfection (a product of free-will he claimed).

He soon attracted a huge following due to his astonishing words of wisdom which left many people in awe but soon people conspired against him out of fear that his followers would make him emperor of the world.

One day when Serephiel was travelling alone he came across a woman in the woods who claimed that some people had broken into her house and were about to take her children, instantly he rushed into the house where he discovered it was but an ambush by those who wished him harm.
As he looked behind himself, he saw the door close with the woman standing inside next to it grinning maliciously at him alongside heavily armed guards but Serephiel was not disheartened by this despite the fact that he knew of the intentions of the people. He simply smiled and said "It was only a matter of time and I do not hold anything against you. Do what you must and do it quick." before falling to his knees and stretching his arms out.

It was after this that one of the men there, Nahum, saw the righteousness and courageousness in Serephiel and turned against his former friends but he was quickly beaten down and watched as Serephiel was flogged, stamped on and hit with a mace to break all the bones in his body.

The Verbum Dei Order believes Serephiel guides them.

After a long beating it appeared as though Serephiel was dead and his attackers fled the the house. Nahum, who had taken a terrible beating, crawled over to his body and started crying, it was then that he heard these words "Do not cry for me but rather cry for those that attacked me and listened not to my words." and with that said Serephiel stood up, although now crippled and in great pain, and offered his hand to Nahum and helped him up.

The two then walked for many miles until they came to civilization wherein a crowd quickly flocked to them. "My friends. It was my love that strengthened me and brought me to you so that I may say my final goodbyes. For it is love and love alone that is the most powerful force in this universe and nothing can compare. Hatred only stirs up evil but love brings joy and peace. Now I must leave you but not before asking that you pay heed to all my words that I have spoken to you. Also I ask that you do not cry for me for I go to our supreme and loving lord."

With that said Serephiel dropped down dead and many people from the crowd quickly rushed to his body and held it crying over it. When a doctor examined his body, he found that his legs, ribs and arms had all been broken and for years people marveled at how he had traveled such a distance in such a state that no ordinary person could have possibly have managed and with Nehum confirming this miracle, people soon concluded that Serephiel was indeed no normal man and was a literal incarnate of God's message, an angel, an angel of suffering, of light, of love and of truth and so the religion of Serephiel was born based on his teachings.

After Serephiel's death, one man going by the name of Seraph tracked down all of those that were responsible for his death and tortured them one by one before brutally killing them. Afterwards Seraph roamed the world trying to right wrongs wherever they were done. Some respected him while others cited him as an example of corrupted teachings of Serephiel.

Bedlam Asylum:

Bedlam Asylum is a hospital for the mentally ill. The hospital has a long history and one that is dark and concealed for the most part. It is said that a long time ago the staff abused many of the patients which led to many dying.

In one of the most notable and infamous cases, a young girl who had been sectioned there was sexually abused by several of the doctors which led to several knights of Avue storming the asylum in anger and chopping the bodies of the doctors up into little pieces before littering them about outside of the asylum.

Many enemies can be avoided.

Recently another terrible event occurred in the asylum which led to all of the patients breaking out. When Lucia arrives on Eridanus the patients will be free from the asylum and roaming the vicinity around there with only a small guard resistance preventing them from progressing into civilization.

If Lucia wishes to get to the bottom of the problem and find out just how the patients escaped she will need to head to the interior of Bedlam asylum itself but she will either need to fight or avoid the patients along the way which leads one to the question: do you kill the patients to prevent them from spreading and harming innocents (even though they are really innocents themselves who have no clue about what they're doing) or leave them be and hope the guard deal with them in the appropriate way?

While in this area, Lucia is likely to come face to face with these patients who may or may not seek her death and while killing them would be to ensure survival it would mean killing people who have no idea of what they're really doing. This is just one of the many difficult moral choices that Lucia will come across during the journey.

World Altering Consequences:

Many of the choices to be made in the mod will actually impact the world either in a positive or negative way (and sometimes in both). Lucia can open up an orphanage for children or even simply give poor children money which not only helps the children on the street in the end but gives Lucia a positive reputation as being generous. However this itself can attract the wrong crowd from people who think they can bully Lucia into giving them money. How you handle such a situation is entirely down to you.

Other choices can actually lead to two villages in the mod being destroyed even if you manage to destroy the attacker behind it all in the end. Finally, some important choices can even impact what type of creatures you encounter on the road and whether zombies increase in numbers due to a terrible catastrophe or whether they reduce because the event is avoided.

The player is able to open an orphanage if they wish.

Yes, I most certainly do have a one track mind at times. :)

And I do like the fact that your actions in this game do result in different consequences in your world. It's nice that you can effective make changes to the land and attract wanted (and unwanted) attention to one's self depending on what choices are made. Really appreciate all the work you've done with the module to date!

Although there are some patients who just might take a fancy towards the PC.

I am hopping to see some more details about the other henchmen in the game. Would also like to know if there is any faction in game. Moreover, is it possible to give us some examples on how other NPC would react to Lucia's reputation (evil vs good, kind vs cruel, slutty vs prude...etc).

Well the new update is coming soon and I'll be writing about more companions, the factions (and there are factions) and more NPC interactions.

The new article will cover the vampire stuff (well at least some of it) so I'll answer your first question. Pregnancy? I was considering adding it in for a sub-plot where Lucia can get pregnant and have a baby but if I am to add it then I want it done right so we'll see in the end after everything else has been added.

Asides from that, I would prefer the years progressing forward after the birth so you actually get a child who you can speak to and teach.
