good evening carnivores fans, this is inspector writing to give a detailed FAQ about sanctuary, in which I hope to clear some details about the mod for ya'll to understand.
sanctuary is a partial conversion mod that aims to expand upon the base game with new dinosaurs, revamped maps and many more new features. for comparison sake, this mod will be similar to that of carnivores+ or carnivores reloaded. the mod itself is intended to be a hybrid of the original games, with features from both carnivores 1, carnivores 2 and even carnivores ice age.
we wont give much away publicly, but this mod will feature several new animals as map exclusive ambience and huntables, including animals such as hadrosaurus, giganotosaurus, carnotaurus, troodon and many more. each map that will feature will also be changed with various new places to explore, making the maps fresh for familiar hunters. that's all I can really tell since we prefer to keep progress hidden, or we keep it on the carnivores saga discord server.
the only huntables you'll be able to select from the menu is the same classic dinos as before, but chasmosaurus has been replaced with the (arguably more welcomed) triceratops from C1. other than that there wont be any drastic changes to the hunting roster.
yes, this mod will rely on the engine's various features like aquatic ai, spawning capabilities and much more that is now possible to the fantastic people behind the engine.
no. this mod is solely in it's own separate canon, and holds no connection to any other mod unless explicitly said so. but some of poharex's work will be used, specifically some of his ambient animals that were initially for carnivores+ before their departure. over all we do not want to associate with the plutyrian cycle in any form what so ever.
even though we prefer to go on our own pace, i do aim to get a playing early release done by the end of the year and update the mod as we go further into development. but understand this: we are only human and can get things done when we can, so don't get mad if it takes forever to release.
currently we have finished a handful of dinosaurs that will feature in our first release and are currently in the stage of being animated, and its safe to say that the mapping is going very well as manya jungle, delphaeus hills and soon our only original map will reach a state of completion. below should be some previews of our current progress.
i do hope this clears many things up, sincerely the inspector.
20 years after the events of Carnivores: Cityscape and the closure of FMM UV-32, something is waiting on the planet of dinosaurs...
Is this still being worked on?
hey inspector what your favourite aspect of the carnivores mythos

Are there any plans on adding in a 10th (bonus) huntable animal to this, like with the Yeti from Ice Age, Seismosaurus from Carnivores+, and Gojirasaurus from Triassic?
yes, there will be a bonus huntable, however it wont be revealed until the next update.
I'm guessing that's still a long way off?
So when can we expect another update for this?
yes you can expect another update, however we will keep most of the progress private and will show it off when it is finished.
