The main reason we were in-active for so long was because we wanted to make Brothers War:Source a Commercial game Using the unreal development kit,we planned to Go by a royalty deal with Epic games.
we also wanted to swap to the unreal engine because it a certain features that the source engine does not have because the source engine is a bit out dated, a few of the advantages were : better terrain mapping,easier model import,auto-convex collisions easier to implement game features than The Source engine.
But,unfortunately we had to kick our 2d artists,coders,level designers and 3d artists. We managed to get 2 professional Unreal development Kit mappers on our team and a new modeler.
But we struggled to find an unreal script coder so after a month of no coder apply for our team we decided to abandon the commercial game development idea and revive the old brothers war source team,and gain the experience from developing this mod.
But we came out with better ideas and suggestion for brothers war source(or brothers at war as it was called at the time),many of our listed features of our front moddb page were generated at this time. the commercial game development also gave me a better guide of directing a team as the work became more intense and what is needed to motivate our team.
So hopefully the brothers war source team will knuckle down and bring You a successful mod in the future.
but theres 3 types of modders we need before we can Complete this, we lack C++ Coders and mappers
