this looks... strange... somehow... but not in a negative way.. it's very cool but... it's so... I don't know... special? *AGH* there is no word to describe what I'm thinking of this right now... but it's very nice!

Maybe you should do comparison shots. I don't see the difference from my memory of the original game.
Perhaps you're mistaking this; it's not like a HD version or anything, it's simply a port to the LATEST Source Engine, so that bugs and errors from the original can be fixed easier, as well as allow mods / custom stuff to be made for it, much easier.
