GTA3Audio.exe messes my sound up!! | Locked | |

I have tried replacing the sound files [as the flying delorean sounds like a lawnmower]and when I change all the values and replace the files as instructed, i get a load of I/O errors AND my sound file is broken so i have to copy a backup I made. |

It would help if you tell me what is wrong, like when it happens, what it says, etc. And as for next release, i'm going to change to a different sound editor that unlike this one, requires some disk space in order to export all the files. It's simpler, thats for sure. Export all sound files, replace them with the ones in the zip, import them all again. |

Hey Guys, 1st off, i'm sorry for writing in the wrong thread.... Sorry :s Anyways the problem i'm having with my deloreans is just the sounds, Everything else is perfect. 1. Now when i try to install the sounds i 1st start gta3audio.exe, and load the sfx.SDT file (GTAVC\Audio) with the File-Open command. " I/O Error 183 and sometimes 103" So i can't touch the sound files. Any ideas? |

yeah i've went to the deluxo files and checked the properties and the only thing ticked is the archives, can i just replace them manully. Like i find the files names as such and grab the deluxo files and just copy and paste them? If not, what do you think is wrong here? |

you can use nullpointer's tool. |
||

It says i need to shut it down. blah blah blah microsoft has incounted a problem and needs to close this problem send Don't send. yadayadayada and also the whole gta sound file thingy doesn't even work, whenever i try to replace something or rebuild i get an error on it. Sorry Delorean88us, any ideas? |

a couple. Is it in the audio folder? Did you delete any file? Did you keep the .wav extensions in the sfx.inf file? Are there any blank lines in that file? |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
im having the same prob, 183 but mostly 103 |
||

look at the above tutorial on using the other audio editor. |
||

nah man, 1st i replaced them like your picture did from the fyling sounds readme file, where those sound numbers were * unknown 1 known 2 *, and replaced them in the sfx.inf by deleting whatever was in the sxf.inf folder, for example.... (not real numbers) sxf00294.wav12345 12345 <--- original, than i replaced from the readme file, located in flying sounds folder, * sxf00294.wav 54321 54321 * so after all that, i save the bastard and i tried to open up the amp.exe thingy to i could finish it, but it closes straight away. but that sound program the rebiuld replace one is not working at all. My deluxo folder is seperated from the audio folder, but i placed the sounds from the deluxo folder to the audio folder like you said in the nullpointer's tool tutorial forum. And i don't know what you mean by blank lines in whatever file.... If you mean that black screen that comes up when importing or whatever, it just stayed black, which i thought it was supose to do. other than that Dr. ;-) i've said it all LoL |

try this sfx.inf. It's mine If all else fails, try reexporting the sound files again by running audexp.exe. Also, make sure that audimp.exe and audimp.dpr are in the same folder. Edited by: Delorean88us |

May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
alright i'll give it a try. but should i replace my own sxf.INF file than? |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
thats what I implied by downloading. |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
Oh and also, since it is yours {and i thank you } But did you do all the exchanging of numbers and stuff. so all i would have to do is just replace the file with the one you gave me? |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
What do you expect me to have? 0.2a? lol Haven't touched it since the release of 0.2b. Edited by: Delorean88us |

good news and bad news Bad news, still says blah blah blah microsoft has incounted a problem and needs to close this problem send, Don't send. The good news is when i opened audip.exe thingy, instead of shuting down straight away it lasted about 30 seconds before it did, so i think your sfx file actually did something, however whatever is needed to make this audip.exe run smoothly is something the way i did something before i got it or could be the gta3sound editor thing which doesn't work, because i never had to use that, as it dowsn't work correctly. |

how many sfx files do you have? Should go up near sfx10000.wav, i forget the number. Edited by: Delorean88us |

Delorean buddy, i just opened the game now to get lucky with it but i get the sfx file you sent did work after all, the engine sounds wicked! Finally, another happy customer Thanks man for pulling through and having patients for me and apreciate it heaps. Thanks again and see you in the Future... ... or the past |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
wait, it actually works? I thought you said it crashed |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
YEAH MAN, it works even though it did crash, but i guess using that audip.exe thingy for onlt 30 seconds gets the job done. Don't worry, it will crash soon enough and i'll be coming back if it does I'm just stupid when it comes to this stuff, but i guess we both pulled through for eachother. Anyways man, i got some Back to the Future to deal with, thanks again man, and look foward to your little Hill Valley Map thing you got going. Just try not to make it hard to indstall as it was doing so with these demos! hehe 10/10 ps: get some door sounds, they rock! Cheers! |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
oh yeah, i have them. I forgot to pack them in with 0.2b, lol. Only side effect is that all cars with the same original door sound will have the new one as well. And don't worry. 0.2c will have the normal installer you know, the installer for cars, and then sounds like you just did. |
||
May 15 2007 Anchor | ||
AH f***, i guess i'm in for another episode than aye. And for the doors, its not like i'm gonna drive any other car anyways lol well i'll be waiting ~ Aquaman ~ |
