Battlefield 2: Australian Forces is a singleplayer and multiplayer modification for the popular team-based modern warfare game Battlefield 2. The aim of the Australian Forces modification is to replace the United States forces with Australian forces; which will include new player, weapon and vehicles skins, appropriate HUD changes, new Australian flags, sounds, and new weapons and vehicles in future releases. This is the mod many Australian players have been waiting for - the chance to take on the world as highly-respected Australian Forces! arkanis50 - Project Lead / PR / Coding Brother Estapol - 3D Models Beex - 3D Models / Coding Vando - Maps / 3D Models Air Elijah - Textures

After investing a year and a half into the mod we have been evaluating where to go next from this 1.0 release - on the proviso we would continue developing the mod as long as people were still playing it. Quite frankly, the numbers of people playing online at the moment does not warrant us continuing development of the mod, and consequently the next small patch released to fix a few balance issues will very likely be the last release of Australian Forces for Battlefield 2.

We had a lot of plans for where to go in 1.1, including a fully working unlock system which allowed us to use our own weapon unlocks online - something no other mod has seemed to get working, new armies and campaigns set in Australian and Indonesia. Sadly this new content will probably never come to fruition, at least on the Battlefield 2 engine.

We will see how player numbers go over the next couple of weeks, but I suggest people play online while they have the chance. I know it sounds harsh, but we have said from day one that if no one is going to play the mod, we aren't going to continue to develop it. Pretty simple concept really. ;)
