Battlefield 2: Australian Forces is a singleplayer and multiplayer modification for the popular team-based modern warfare game Battlefield 2. The aim of the Australian Forces modification is to replace the United States forces with Australian forces; which will include new player, weapon and vehicles skins, appropriate HUD changes, new Australian flags, sounds, and new weapons and vehicles in future releases. For a mod that has been in development since early July 2005, it has taken almost eight months for the Australian Forces team to post an official mod update. Typically we like to release little tasters for our patient supporters, but now that version 0.3 is getting closer, it is time to showcase some of the work from our small, but talented team.

Tiger ARH (modeled and textured by BEEX)
With Australia taking delivery of the first of twenty-two Tigers in 2004, The Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (ARH) represents a significant milestone in the development of the ADF’s aviation capability. The Tigers’ flexibility, ability to deploy at short notice and to operate in diverse circumstances, represents a revolution in the Australian Army's operational versatility.

Long Range Patrol Vehicle (modeled and textured by BEEX)
The Long Range Patrol Vehicle was introduced into service with the Australian Army in November 1991. Initially the vehicle was used to carry out medium and long range reconnaissance over continental Australia by the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR); although it has recently been deployed during SAS operations in the Middle East.

Steyr F88 AusSteyr – Based on the AUG A1, although slightly modified for tough Australian conditions.

Steyr F88

Steyr F88S - A version of the Australian F88 Austeyr with a picatinny rail in place of the standard optic sight to allow the attachment of various other sights (such as night vision or high-quality long range sights such as the Elcan C79 Wildcat, ACOG or Aimpoint). This version of the Steyr is notorious amongst Australian infantry soldiers because the positioning of its picatinny rail is uncomfortably close to the cocking handle and almost always results in shredded knuckles after prolonged use

We have a heap more new vehicles, weapons and maps to show you, but that’s probably enough for this little update. Hopefully next update we will show you some more of the new vehicles we have in store, as well as some previews of awesome maps made by our mapper Vando.
