A planned fan expansion for Age of Empires 1. Titled Beyond the Indus. The expansion would have added the Mauryan, Harappan, Funan, and Vietnamese civilizations to Age of Empires 1. There was a planned new Indian architecture set, in this picture the new Academy, docks, Town Center, Temple, Archery Range, House, Stables, Market, Temple, Siege Workshop, and Government Center all in the Bronze Age are seen. The fan expansion would have had a new opening video, and a campaign focused on Ashoka, along with some scenarios based on Alexandar The Great's campaigns into India. It would have also added 5 new units (Spearman, Light Cavalry, Merchant Ship, Improved Slinger, and Armored Camel Riders. Along with some new technologies. Unfortunately, the team decided to disband due to the Age of Empires 1: Definitive Edition announcement as well.
Surely it'd be cool to see the Indians make an appearance in Age of Empires 1: Definitive Edition.
