Abandoned Town is a cryengine1 map set in a city like Pripyat. Technically more a map than a mod, it is composed mainly of non-vanilla objects. City buildings, streets and ambience are all inspired by STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. The city landscape has been created by moddb member Vikom, and is largely complete. I will be doing the completing, ie Mission.lua, radar points, triggers, screen text, save points etc., plus my own ideas and add-ons.

This is a small map, so story will be short. There are a lot of buildings surrounding the core, so it might end up a larger map with a larger story.
Capturing STALKER atmosphere is the main deal.
The story as outlined by Vikom is to explore, find a document, solve puzzles, gain access to buildings and underground areas, find the target object, and escape. There is a hostage situation which atm is not working, but I like the hostage feature. Only seen it once before in a mod that I can recall.
So atm a short simple story. Typical FarCry: kill mercs, find keycard, enter armory, get bomb, blow up computer, etc, lol.
Vikom has set it up with A LOT of combat. This is not my style of mapping, but I know lots of guys like that (see Crazy Beach) so the murder and mayhem will stay.
I also like some humour, if I can work it in. First person shooters are so dour.
I also like those "fright" moments where you nearly tip your chair over backwards, so if I can work that in I will.
Vikom has a liking for Easter Eggs, me too. Some are already in place, I plan to make more.
Thanks for your question HFCR. Feels like I wrote you an article, lol. But it's encouraging to get comments, X)

Your description sounds great. Much better than what I remember. I'm looking forward to try it out and experience your part of work when it's done.
Once again, I'm really glad you've taken the development. Without you, the map would vanish.
