Very late reply since I didn't get the notification, but this will be good for everyone, since it's mentioned upon mod page, right below the donwload button:
If, after installing and enabling the submod, and you're utilizing Meiou & Taxes 3.0 from steam, you either crash while loading the game, or you're seemingly stuck forever while "loading ***...", try to delete the steam version of Meiou & Taxes 3.0, and install instead the version of Meiou & Taxes 3.0 from the forum/discord.
It has been reported to solve such problems, for some reason.
Indeed, the forum/discord version of Meiou is reported more stable, you should use that regardless.
