Can anyone tell me how to kill a chimera? Found one in the radars, and was able to glitch it so it couldnt atack me. Disposed of 50 buckshot sheels in it, and its still not even limping. Is there a special "specific" way of taking them out, or are they just imortal in dead air?

Your most likely tired. Using stimulants like cigarretes or getting some sleep will bring your aim back to normal. Alsow, theres an addon that almost completly removes the sway if you want to try it out.

Dude I already told you theres an addon for correct steady aim. Havent you tried it already?

Nope, it works as intended. The creator claimed the mod to be outdated because it was intended for some bug that caused that horrible aim in 98a. They since fixed that problem in 98b, but becoming tired still messes with the aim. That part is intended and makes sense if you play with sleep deprivation on.
But if you dont like that option on, it makes no sense to have that drunk aim, so i use that addon.

You realize there are several options when starting the game that fix most of the stuff you mentioned. Extra ammo, better condition guns, better loot and better rewads per mission. Your basicly complaining about something that the devs already provided a fix for, but you chose not to take them.

There are alsow many addons that help with some other issues. Like "fixing" the military having ties with Duty and the ecologists.

NPCs really shouldnt be hit by anomalies. Despite braking imersion, NPCs are just way to dumb, and they would get themselves killed all the time if they were affected by anomalies.
The way weapons jam now has more to do with the malfunctions of the weapon rather then its condition percentage. You probably have a deformed component thats causing all of those jams. The same happens with 99% condition guns if they have those malfunctions. A bit retarded I know, but it should get improved in the future. Maybe.

I alsow find the unloading a shotgun thats fully loaded because of a jam to be very annoying. Its even more annoying when its a high mag capacity one.

It might seem confusing for beginners to understand how certain degraded parts affect the weapon performance. I was a victim of this myself. When I fired 5 mosin nagant shots from a 15 meter distance at a bandit, and I saw every shot hit the wall around him, I thought the gun was a piece of ****. Until I realized the barrel was deformed.
It takes some common sense to realize what malfunctions afect, and I supose the devs didnt see the need to mention these things to the players.

Concerning the radiation, either get a proper suit to deal with it, or suplement the suit with a gas mask. The second option is usually the easiest and most affordable for the starting game. The protection required on average are 30% for the south, 60% for the center and 90% for the north. With some exceptions being certain high radiation areas in the marshes as an example, and both the radar and red forest being radioactive as ffff.

Provide the documents to the tarders and they will sell better suits. Usually by faction.

Talk to the bandit at 100 rads bar. You can ask him for information on how to get a temporary permit for both the military and mercs. With the permit they become neutral for a temporary time and you can do missions for them during that period.

yep I believe so. You could easily just install the chimera file if thats the only thing that bothers you.

Cigarretes and I supose any thing with the tag stimulant.
That addon works for 98b anyways. Im playing with it on 98b myself.

I believe theres an addon here somewhere that makes chimeras a bit easier to kill. Still dificult, but not outrages to do. Check the tweaks adons and see if you find it.

I havent found a single chimera myself though.

You can however do jobs for them and eventually they will become neutral regardeless of the permit expiring. I believe 900 relation is enough.

Just take in consideration that some jobs they provide include killing loners and other factions you are neutral towards. So chose the missions wisely if you dont want to **** off someone else.

Moddb.com

This works for me. I play with sleep deprivation off, so it makes no sense for the tired aim to be in effect for me. That being said, cigarretes should work too. Never tried it myself.

Sucks man. Does your game autosave? If so have you tried loading the autosave for when you travel to the warehouses?

You could try turning offline battles off on the game options. I personally have them off for other reasons, but it could in theory help with the memory problem. Since you already tried lowering graphic settings and DX I really dont know if it will be of any use.

Hmm interesting. Glad you found a fix. I might try it myself.
Do you use any addons that change traders by any chance. Cause im trying to figure if this is a vanilla issue, or if its related to some addon that changes trader files.

Im experiencing the same thing. I think that maybe when you deliver documents, the trade rotation restarts back to 0.
Everything worked fine with Duty, but the military still offers the basic stuff aswell.

Or like you said, maybe you have to get to 1000 relation, though I have my doubts about that. But who knows.

Looking at the trader files, neither. Though I could be wrong.
Im absolutly sure Duty wont sell it, cause they dont sell any 9x39 weapons, or any of that sort.

Does anyone know how many secret documents exist in the game. I currently found 4, and Im pretty sure I can get 2 more if the logic of these documents follow the pattern. So is 6 the lucky charm?

Alsow, where is Owl?

Hmm, I think I know what it is. They changed the color squeme from 98a to 98b. 98a used a more redish tone, kinda like misery, while the new one is set for a more blue tone.

You can change that in the options. I think everything at mid is how 98a was set. i personally use the redish ton more myself.

Have you tried the -noprefetch shortcut launch? I still crash with that on, but I find it lowers the frequency of crashes by alot, though it increases stutering in the loading level. Especially in Jupiter, where the game will frezze for about 5 seconds, 1 second after loading the level.

Something you could try is changing the A-life setting. Wich I have no idead where its located in this game. Lowering that could help you getting inside the map, and save a bit further in.

The advanced inventories of the traders is based on documents you hand them over. These special documents from what I know can only be found in underground labs, tunnels. Theres a finite amount of them though, so you have to chose the traders you value the most.

Their inventories will alsow only take efect once the restock day takes effect. In vanilla it takes 5 days for them restock.

I said they were crazy strong. Was only able to take one out by the help of a monolith soldier who shot him with 3 mags of a Galil. After he giant killed him and come to me, it took an F1 grenade, one mag of my ak-74M, and two loads from my MP-153, so 16 buckshots to finish it off.

The fact that they are pretty fast, see you from very long distances, take way to much firepower to take out, and have an absurd stomp atack make them a bit to overpowered to handle. Just my opinion.

Oh wow Zealot. Havent seen you in a long time. Regarding optimization... have you reached the big northen maps? I find these areas more unstable and prone to crash then the smaller southern maps. No surprise really though, since call of chernobyl had the same issues.

Havent found a tent neither.

YYYESSSS. Get rektttt. Ibb.co

Not gonna go into details on how I managed that feat.
Something thats really bothering me and should be looked into is the weapon degradation system. Having a 99% condition AK with a deformed trigger is no fun, and makes absolutly no sense. I like this idea of malfunctions in guns and how they affect performance..... BUT ITS 99% condition. It cannot be fixed by tecnicians, reliability upgrades dont seem to do anything to avoid these problems as it makes it even worst since the gun is always high condition and cannot be repaired, and these problems seem to appear too frequently imo.

Several ways to fix this.
-Make technicians repair top condition guns so that they can fix these problems.
-Make a diferent tab for technicians to repair condition or malfunctions.
-make these issues appear less frequently on high condition guns, or better yet make these malfunctions appear in tiers based on their condition. Starting with dirty, to deformed, to broken as the condition goes bad.
-Allow for reliability upgrades to decrease the chance of these malfunctions to appear, as its stated on these own upgrade descriptions.

Note that Im not sugesting all of these to be implemented. Just giving ideas on how to get around this. A 99% condition car shouldnt have a deformed crankshaft.

Totally agree with you. And thats why I compared bloodsuckers behavior in both Misery and Dead air. And how they were far harder to combat because of those same flaws you mentioned. Again, in this mod there are many warnings you get before a bloodsucker confronts you. Mostly by sound. I find that trying to get high ground, or getting in a house where they will bottleneck at the entrance is the best way to take them out.

It requires a bit of tactics and exploits. Major problem is when a gang of them atack, but even then with a competent shotgun they can be dealt with. Still have no clear idea of how to take a giant out though. really fell something should be tweaked in order for them to be a bit easier to take out, without making them wimps.
