why not?
we want to play this game
he needs money for living
so if he will make this game more serius he will have alot of customers

I have a great way of earn money
you can take pokegen, and make it even greater by that you will make an offical web and if someone wants to play this game he will have to register (Account based on database) and he/she will get free 6 pokeballs
and if he/she wants more pokeballs he will have to buy them.
But thats mean that you need to take pokegen to a whole new level.
You need to make a bigger map, 2 or 3 offical servers and more pokemons.
