To a certain point, its true. Yet not quite. The tools to educate yourself are everywhere, and the government doesnt need to force-feed you to make you smart. The "system" is necessary; too much freedom, you get anarchy. Too much catering, you end up with socialism. The "owners" have to exist, or else everything falls into chaos. "Freedom", on some level, may be an illusion, but I can guarntee that its a good bit better than the alternative.
There are plenty of authoritary regimes, both from left or right, in the left, we've got Communism, in the right, we've got Fascism, but the big enemy is extremism. The system needs some changing, because the actual "democracy" we have is actually a two-party dictatorship, because the people actually believe there are only two choices to vote, that's what happens.
That I can agree on, but the people need to make it clear to everyone that there are more choices, not the government.
Not true at all. The president is a civilian, not a general in the military, therefore there is no presence of a dictatorship in the country.
You know it's funny how everyone says it's the rich fellas who are so terrible for the country. Let's take a quick look at our American history:
Democratic Republican (modern day conservative) Thomas Jefferson was always at odds with a Whig (modern day liberal) Alexander Hamilton.
Jefferson was considered noble. He came from a very wealthy family. Hamilton was considered a peasant. He came from a very poor family. However both made it into politics, and both ended up having lots of power and influence.
Now Hamilton liked having all this power all of the sudden. He wanted to ensure that the goverment would have all the power. He wanted to control the people. So, he pushed for a bigger government that was more like the British model. Jefferson wanted a small government by the people. He didn't want the government to abuse it's power.
That's the issue with people who start out poor and become politicians. They like it too much. They want to hold onto it.
As for Hamilton and Jefferson... Hamilton got so damn angry with Jefferson that he challenged him to a duel and Thomas Jefferson killed him. :)
The rich aren't always right. They're not always evil though. The poor aren't always wrong. But they're also not always right.
Well said. Good and evil comes from all people, not just one class.
