Elder Scrolls: Tamriel at War

Mod review

Utterly destroys game balance: costs are not balanced in the campaign, thus some factions are crippled, while some are OP; and unit balance on the battlefield is also really bad. I don't know, why this mod had to be done, it doesn't add any positive aspects to the game. The whole system of th unit "rebalancing" doesn't make any sense.

And the dev uses "fake" screenshots on the ModDB page, taken from other mods and other sites.

Mod can't start (CTD), no technical support from developers, tons of stolen content (music), pay to play.

Mod review

The mod in its current status would only deserve an 8, yet I give it a 9.

It is a good mod, nice campaign map, absolutely amazing units (really; they are beautiful), challanging gameplay.

But there are also many problems with it. The balance is far from perfect, horsearchers are severely overpowered and hordes of them are on every battlefield, some factions have a very low variety of units, others have too much, etc. The translation is good, yet here and there some Turkish texts still can be found.

It would not deserve the nine, but I gave it one, because it is still in development, and I hope I will see a version in the future, where these flaws will have disappeared.

Call of Warhammer: Beginning of The End Times

Mod review

Attention! Long review is coming here, because this mod deserves that.

Medieval 2 Total War is a game more than a decade old, and still, there are many who play it, and - fortunately - many people are also able and willing to mod it.

We have seen great mods earlier. I played Broken Crescent, The Last Kingdom, Westeros Total War, Call of Warhammer, and the best of them in my opinion: Stainless Steel. Some good, better, or not so good, but it was fun playing them.

Then came Third Age Total War. The best Middle-Earth strategy and the best Total War game I have ever seen. Tons of accurate lore, special units, and the unique custom in-battle settlements. With its submods, "Divide and Conquer" and "Massive Overhaul Submod", it seemed, Medieval 2 Total War reached its limits. Third Age was the summit, the best of all.

And now, Call of Warhammer: Beginning of the End Times reached this level again. It is the only worthy challenger of Third Age. It easily surpasses not only all other mods, but all other Total War games released since Medieval 2. Of course, it is not perfect - yet. It crashes sometimes, there are missing unit cards or descriptions. But, I hope, that will be fixed.

Sadly, I have no experience of Warhammer Universe (except Rage of Dark Gods), but I dare say, this is the 2nd best Total War game I have ever played. If its faults will be corrected, it may overshadow even Third Age, the best so far.

Respect, Call of Warhammer team! Here I salute you!
