OK I enjoy this game so I have a bias. Ver 4.0 is out so the stuff above is out of date.
The graphics are 2D - Eye Candy isn't the point of this game. A very hard and non-predictable AI is. Depth of play is: over 6 million different maps and over 100 hours of content (base game),average game length of 12 hours (Some extreme players play on the largest maps that take up to 60 hours to finish a single campaign. There is a new survivor mode in beta for short intense games).
AI War is not for everybody. If you like grand strategy, solving tactical puzzles, Tower Defense games, tough AI, and a game that continuously improves through free DLC, then give it a look via the demo and visit the player forums. Oh yeah, all profits from the 2nd expansion go to the "Child's Play" charity for sick kids.
