I mean there was a time skip between the ending and that cutscene. That is likely occuring right after the Citadel fell or during HL2 Ep1, but even if he is dead, I am definitely going to treat it as the canon ending in my personal canon as that scene was extremely powerful for what it was.

Once the game is in your sourcemods folder, you need to log out and log back in or you need to hard restart steam (Task Manager or the bottom right hand side's arrows)
