nope, but I don't care, I will continue the development. If there will be problems, I think that changing names will be enough.
And what about models? You are doing all by yourself?
Great work, man! Especially the desert landscape looks really harsh.
I do not worry about such things. There were a lot of obstacles, because Skyrim were rather difficult to mod for me.And there will be more. Compared with all bugs, lags, crippled CK with impressive collection of all kind of troubles, problem with copyright seems to be not such a problem. I don't know why MERP so easyly gave up, I did not support the idea of just closing the project with feel of outraged dignity. It maybe looks good, but now there is no big Lotr project for Skyrim. And who won? Well not the community, for sure.
it will be released there some day
Thats just a hightmap, I'm not making any models for the Erebor. But of course with Erebor there is more opportunity to bring the beauty and glory of dwarven architecture than with old Moria.
Looks great for me. You've got an animated palms or static?
I don't know, of course I want to release it as soon as possible, but I also want to bring as more content with the release as possible. Kind a paradox. Well, I think when the 21st hall, Durin's bringe, east gates will be done, I'll release it.
This week, I think.
Thank you. They revealed release data for Shadows of Mordor. Just thinking, there are hundreds of interesting stories described in the books, and mentioned in the books (what about the Balin's expedition to reclaim Moria fate?), and W&B made a game with super stealth assassin with glowing eyes, who is half dead and can destroy the whole Mordor army alone and kick *** of Sauron. Maybe they should reconsider their project manager candidature and put there someone who at least read the title of Tolkiens books.
More are comming soon. Yes it is vast, I don't know smth about 0,6x1,8km. So there will be monuments, chambers, living quarters, training grounds etc. 21st hall will be one of the biggest places in Moria.
I'm all by myself. And mr.OwenYulefield sometimes helps me with reference pictures.
yeah, I thought about it. But now the project is on such stage that can only make W&B representatives smile, and of course not to make any warnings.
Some info about the actual progress - LOD of custom objects is working fine. 21st hall takes shape. Screenshots will come soon, I suppose.
Well, I don't worry about it a lot, sometimes it is enough to change the name of the character or of the place to avoid copyright. Or, in case of big problems make a new page.
thanks a lot. It is just some old models I did for MERP.
Can't just leave it like that after all those evenings with CK and all those lags and bugs, you know.
Well, in a movie they put Elendil there for some reason. I really don't know why. So, there was not a good concept of how Anarion should look like, and I decided to make a movie version.
That's not W&B that time. Just some problems in real life. Anyway I'm stil working. Unfortunately I can't show any pics, because I'm assembling the 21st hall in 3ds max, and after that there will be a worst part of importing to the Skyrim and assembling there. So now the chamber of Mazarbul is ready and fits perfectly in the hall. And I also made new pillars from scratch.
Guys I had a terrible time. I can't say anything certain about the future of the mod. What can I say is that at least I'll try to finish some models I stated and the big hall. The last time I tried to make a LOD for a hall it didn't work properly. And again CK is really a disgrace, and not a pleasure to work with it.
yeah, now it mostly new models, so it has minimal impact on the game
More likely there will be a teleport or smth to Middle Earth at least in the first stages.
The playable map can't be bigger then 4096x4096, thats in a quarter bigger than a Skyrim, maybe more. The map will cover a quad of Middle Earth with Moria and Lothlorien.
So, other Worldspaces with other parts of middle Earth could be build separatly. But I'll try to make patches (actually they are really big, Skyrim is not a small world) feel the whole.
About this worldspace - Moria is big, it should be about 9x5km in game, with different levels, different halls and chambers, watermills etc, so it should be itself a big world underground. Really big one. And more importantly looks like it is possible to make.
Almost finished the model of Balin's tomb. Huh, it is so small in the movie, looks like they really put the cameras to the corners of the chamber to make it feel bigger . But it is one of the greatest scenes in the movie, in my opinion, so I decided to model it exactly the same, to bring that feeling.
Modeling Chamber of Mazarbul. It would be long, maybe a week, then will be some screens.
More likely, that in this world space will be a part of Lothlorien. I'm gonna import 4096x4096 hightmap, it would be bigger than Skyrim in a quater, if I'm correct, so thats a hell of a job even with that size
had not too much time last few weeks, but however, I had a hard time with CK. The main thing is that now it is clear how to make the dungeon really big. Well and I tried to understand how to import the hightmap, looks like it is not so hard. It won't be the hightmap of the whole middleearth, only region of Misty mountains with Moria and a little part of Lothlorien maybe. I'll try to make it a little bit bigger than a playable Skyrim territory.
Cryengine is very powerfull and flexible engine, but it is simple to create FPS in SDK, but not an RPG. It is not impossible to make it, just like it is not impossible to make an orbital Death star.
About Skyrim - there is a CK, with all the possibilities it can provide in making RPG, and there is a Nexus full of interesting mods and stuff with a great community.
But yeah, when I first saw Skyrim's graphics, I thought "What the hell? Maybe there is smth wrong with my settings?". But now there are graphics mods, and, hey! there is ENBSeries - with proper settings it can provide graphics at least not bad! And blow up your computer of course.
Unfortunately, Skyrim is a little hard for modding, compared with Oblivion. For me at least. I mean, adding custom models is tricky, but still it is possible.
