Xenonauts

Game review

I just played the demo, don't know how it differs from the current build.
Overall it left a great impression.
10/10, because it looks so promising, but I don't want to miss the opportunity to leave some critics as well.

Playing the "campaign" was a bit disappointing, though I must confess that I didn't read the manual or anything. I was surprised that destroyed ufos (that don't appear as often as I'd expected) wouldn't leave wrecks so that I couldn't start a turn-based ground-battle after winning the airfight. I suppose this is due to the early stage of the game or I missed something. Long story short: I was a bit lost / confused while playing the "campaign".
I think, I didn't get the airfight-mechanics fully.. That was also a bit confusing. The UI for building the Bases and the UI for airfights could be improved, I think that different color / icons would do a great job on the UI for building the Bases and I've got the impression that airfights are still at a very early stage.

The quick-battle however is really great. The UI is ways better than what I know from other X-Com-like-games, though it could be improved, but I'm sure you guys will make that right, because it already is pretty useable and fancy. I'd love to see the action-point-plates (movement-markers.. you know what I mean?) update on mousemove, not after clicking on the ground and I'm sure you'll make the UI a bit more comfortable until the game will be released.

The hidden movement is a great idea (don't know if the original XCom-Game had this as well), vehicles are pure fun, the graphics(-style) is great! Exclamation mark!
I'm sure I'm gonna buy that one sometime soon. When do you plan to release the final version?

Great game. I had lots of fun with the demo, though I'd personally find that the movement / action control could be more convenient. However, the demo looks very promising.
