Many MODs have been posted here, but not all of them make it through to the other side.
I had an idea to make this a real community effort.
How about creating a bank of resources for modders everywhere to dip into- to reduce the development time and hopefully increase the number of MODs that actually see a public relese.
I was thinking along the lines of a model, texture and tool bank.
PPL have spend hours making incredible 3D Models- we see the weapons renders and drool over them. How about ppl agreeing to submit models for use by the community to a downloads area here. AS long as ppl were allowed to download them and agreed to credit the creator, then all parties should remain happy. Imagine someone wanting to get a MOD off the ground- they have great ideas, but can't seem to find a modeller who has 3D MAX (or deep pockets) they could download the necessary 3D files from here, slam them in their MOD, stick creator's details in the credits and shazam!
I was wondering whether you could broach this topic in the NEWS section or discuss it in yr next team meeting.At the end of the day- many artists want to see their work out there for others to see, and marvel at,it would be a real shame if their efforts were for naught.
This is a great idea. One I actually considered and I was going to create a moddb spin off site... resourcedb.com or something like that. Unfortunatly creating something like this is a big task and not something i don't believe i have time to do at the moment. It is on the cards, and maybe approached in a few months, but not before then i'm afraid.
